The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Also Bends [Video]

Posted October 8, 2014 at 8:31pm by
A new video testing the bendability of the new Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has been posted by Unbox Therapy.

The footage compares the bendability of the Galaxy Note 4 to the iPhone 6 Plus. Notably, the reviewer was able to put a slight bend in the device at the exact same spot as the iPhone 6 Plus.

"The Note 4 does bend a little bit and funny enough it's in exactly the same spot as the 6 Plus. It's no where near as severe. I just have a tiny little warp here and I had to put a lot of pressure into it to achieve that, but still, at that same amount of pressure the Note 3 was completely fine."

To take advantage of the bendgate controversy, Samsung recently posted it's own bend test video featuring the Galaxy Note 4 entitled, "Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Endures the Gluteus Maximus". You can watch that here.

As shown in the video below, it is possible to bend the device; however, it's unlikely that you will suffer a bent smartphone from day to day use, with the Galaxy Note 4 or the iPhone 6 Plus.

This guy has his facts wrong about how much pressure is required to bend the iPhone 6 plus. Why would you buy a cell phone and try to bend it. That's just like buying a car and running it into a tree, yup it broke. Lame.

Some of those features are apps on ipad, besides sensitive pressure can be handled to on iPad but will be even better once sapphire is coming.

Samsung phones' curved screens are seen by some as gimmicks. It is interesting to compare how the Note 4 handles stress tests compared to Apple's design, given the history of these models.

Thank you for the video. It shows that other devices like the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 also have bending issues, not just the iPhone 6.

In psychological terminology that's called "projection". ;) Revealing self-inadequacy by saying it's others and not ourselves.

From an engineering perspective it's called physics. The whole bending phones deal is retarded!

Just as I suspected-- the Galaxy is curved.

Can he bend iPhone 5?

You iPhone 5 can be bent ...any phone without some form of inner security material can be bent

Didnt put as much pressure on it? seems like he did to me but i guess that depends how bias you wanna be with your comment which you have shown. You say plastic is softer and will bend/break easier with less force? have you not seen his note 3 bend test? a plastic phone thats probably the strongest performer in these bend tests? consumer reports also had the same results, seems plastic is more durable on the newer Samsung devices, the s5 even held out quite well. But the s4 not so much, id have to say the s4 is Samsung's worst device to date, and not only because it bent/cracked, never liked that phone. The Note 3 is/was a beast of a phone though as is the Note 4. Btw these plastic phones have a magnesium chassis and i feel is what is making these so strong where Apples phones are an Aluminum shell with hardware thrown in it and no chassis.

I'm not trying to be biased, I'm judging how different material needs enough force for breaking it if you thought of how physics proves it. Many things out of plastic are made into softer versions, and yes some hard ones but How can it compare to metal? As far as best phones go, note 3 is just a stretched out s4, yet won't be anywhere as close as the almighty iphone of any, since the 5, yet it went from aluminum to graphite and when dropped, barely any marks left behind. Galaxy on the other hand gets more chips than ever. If you refer to the statement "the bigger they are the harder they fall" it makes sense even the material.

Look at the videos; he is bending each phone differently. This is not a controlled test. He bends the iPhones in the middle and the Note at the edge. Everyone wants the iPhone to fail, but common physics suggests the results would vary if bent in the middle.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 might bend under pressure, but it does not necessarily break.

But samsung broke on the note 4 look at it. We all know the iPhone one was fake Samsung paid that guy money and when it wasn't enough he broke the note 4.

What is this, a new take on 'Will it bend?' Every device will bend. This information is common sense.
