For those users that are planning to Jailbreak on then I recommend adding this Cydia Source into Cydia after you jailbreak so you don't have to manually input all the Cydia Sources manually. This will automatically add all the best Cydia Sources and give you access to all the best Cydia Tweaks, Themes and Apps for FREE with just a push of a button. Follow the steps below. 1. Open Cydia 2. Tap Sources 3. Tap Edit 4. Tap Add 5. Type this url in the box (cydiasource,n e t) without the spaces and switch coma for a dot in the url. 6. Tap "Add Source" 7. Install the package labelled "All Sources". This will give you all the best Cydia Sources to have access to all the best Tweaks, Apps and Themes for FREE..

So beware there's an 8.1.1 version now and Pangu doesn't support it... don't just use itunes to download the latest firmware as this guide suggests.. I found this out the hard way.. guess I'm waiting for a Pangu update.. F*@#!
topgunz - November 21, 2014 at 7:59am
I have followed the above process and successfully jailbroken my 6 plus, however after i restore from backup and reboot my phone by any chance, its stuck at the white logo screen, but usually detected in itunes. I had to re-install 8.1 and re-jailbreak nevery time its stuck. what is the best solution for me?
Johnnymay - November 18, 2014 at 12:41pm
Done at 2nd Try... Keep iTunes open and it works like a charm ;-)
M.g.M. - November 18, 2014 at 10:45am
Everything working great but when trying to sync with iTunes it freezes on "Waiting for phone to Sync". Have tried restoring and re jailbreaking phone and again phone works fine but when trying to sync with iTunes, iTunes freezes. Anyone else having sync issues??
mikecarter06 - November 17, 2014 at 9:15am
When they say restore, they mean full restore! Just did it by the book on a mac iPhone 6+
M1 - November 16, 2014 at 12:29pm
Wait up, so, if you updated to 8.1 via Software update means that you've to "Restore Iphone" first? But then how do you restore your backup without messing up the potentially succesful JB?
StoneCut - November 16, 2014 at 8:37pm
You will be asked if you'd like to restore your backup after the upgrade in iTunes. However, you should first install the jailbreak according to instructions and run Cydia once (important!) and only then restore your backup. See my other post.
kfawan4n - November 15, 2014 at 6:04pm
thanks a lot.
Dopester - November 15, 2014 at 6:03pm
After doing the jailbreak according to the instructions above, I have the "pangunew" app showing but no cydia. When I click the pangunew icon, it opens for a second and then closes again taking me back to the springboard.
kfawan4n - November 27, 2014 at 10:24am
jailbraek it again and you will get cydia icon i had same problem before on my 5s.
RegularUser - November 13, 2014 at 3:16am
Crap! It apparently just bricked my iPhone 4S with iOS 8.1. Rehearsed and followed all the instructions to the letter. Pangu8 for Mac said the jailbreak was a success, but iPhone only displays Apple logo briefly then goes black. Is there a way to recover from this? iTunes isn't even recognizing the phone is attached anymore.
StoneCut - November 13, 2014 at 7:12am
Put the phone into DFU mode. Then you can restore it.
Semalik786 - November 11, 2014 at 7:36am

Hi iSheep, it was nice making you bent. I believe you loved it. It was really tight. Awesome
Alisha - November 10, 2014 at 2:16pm
after the jailbreak can you turn back on find my iPhone.
StoneCut - November 10, 2014 at 2:51pm
Yes - this is the safe way of doing it: Turn off Touch ID and "Find My iPhone", Reboot and then enable "Airplane Mode". Then jaibreak. After the reboot open Cydia and let it do it's thing (it will close itself). Reboot once more. Run Cydia one more time - it should starting showing packages. Don't install anything yet! Now enable Touch ID and Find My iPhone again. Reboot one last time to make sure. Maybe some of the reboots are a bit redundant but I had some issues with my devices before I followed that protocol.
StoneCut - November 10, 2014 at 4:27pm
No, I made it work without getting a boot loop. This tutorial fails to mention that you absolutely MUST run Cydia once before you can reenable Touch ID and Find Ny Iphone.
Unknown - November 10, 2014 at 4:32pm
Run cydia first...Simple as that
StoneCut - November 10, 2014 at 4:46pm
I guess it's better to be safe than sorry. I explained a method that worked for me after previously following tutorials that omitted that important step and caused me boot loops - just like this one here on iClarified which also doesn't mention you need to do that. What did you do to help people except complain about my method?
Blackbadtz - November 11, 2014 at 3:01am
Worked perfectly on my six+ THANK YOU !!
Fritsie - November 10, 2014 at 10:05am
Worked perfectly on my iPhone 4S with IOS8.1. Thxs!
treadswitchffs - November 10, 2014 at 6:05am
I have a 4S which I upgraded to iOS 8.1 and now I regret it. I m pretty much very new to jailbreaking. If I were to jailbreak mine, would I be able to somehow downgrade it to iOS 7.1.2? Any ideas would be greatly helpful.
Unknown - November 10, 2014 at 4:21pm
U cant downgrade to IOS 7 anymore :\
Speaknut - November 10, 2014 at 4:58am
I did jailbreak but I just on the airplane mode. Thats it and it worked. What If I didn't turn off the I cloud? Someone answer my question please because I did it before the tutorial was released. thanks.
Unknown - November 10, 2014 at 4:24pm
I prefer u disable icloud...U may have problems with the jailbreaking process
Sq - November 10, 2014 at 12:42am
not working for me. Follow instruction to letter, been jailbreaking since iPhone 3GS, got pangunew icon, tried re-jailbreaking, now it won't boot.
Unknown - November 10, 2014 at 4:23pm
Its because they just released the tool for mac since they released it for windows first
mejustowen - November 9, 2014 at 10:41pm
I just jailbroke my iPhone 6 on 8.1 with my Mac and everything seemed to go well until it rebooted. The Cydia app just crashes everytime i click on it. The Pangu app opens fine but it doesn't serve much purpose. This also happened when I tried the jailbreak through windows a few days ago. I restored my phone and waited for the Mac jailbreak to come out but i am faced with the same issues. Any ideas out there on how to remedy this would be much appreciated!
WiseTech15 - November 9, 2014 at 11:45pm
I encountered this problem before and the problem was that I accidentally didn't disable find my iPhone. Make sure to do this before you begin the jailbreak as Chris will crash like you said if you don't.
mejustowen - November 9, 2014 at 11:59pm
I made sure it was disabled before I even downloaded Pangu! Any other ideas?
iBent - November 10, 2014 at 2:49pm
Yes. You just got screwed and got expensive paper weight
Unknown - November 10, 2014 at 4:29pm
Did u update ur iphone on the phone itself (OTA) or did u use itunes to update it
mejustowen - November 10, 2014 at 10:44pm
I used iTunes to update
mejustowen - November 10, 2014 at 10:45pm
You are a sad little man
Ferdinand8191 - November 9, 2014 at 9:04pm
After some research and another try I discovered the problem. iTunes must be running during the entire process. Should be added to the article.
Laz09111 - November 9, 2014 at 11:26pm
I'm having the same problem as Ferdinand8191, I get an icone called ''pangunew'' but not the Pangu app neither the Cydia. Help pleae! I'm using iPhone 5s ios 8.1.0 and the new Pangu for Mac What i'm doing wrong? I follow all the directions and I leaved iTunes opened.
WiseTech15 - November 9, 2014 at 11:47pm
Just jailbreak it on top off it when it assists in Pangu again
WiseTech15 - November 9, 2014 at 11:48pm
jamilj - November 11, 2014 at 6:02am
I just wanted to confirm that the additional direction offered by Ferdinand8192 worked for me as well. I had to restore from my backup and then run Pangu again with iTunes open and it worked. Prior, you just get the 'pangunew' icon without Cydia, and the Pangu up quits unexpectedly. Oddly, even after restoring the 'pangunew' icon was still there so I just deleted it before re-running the jailbreak. The second time Pangu gave a "Jailbreak Successful" message, unlike the first time when Itunes was closed. Many thanks, Ferdinand8192.

getting error "iPhone7,2 with iOS8.1(12B411)(Not supported,accept ios 7.1 - 7.1x) suggestions?
Lees - November 9, 2014 at 7:17pm
Sounds like you downloaded the old Pangu, not Pangu8.
BigOnes - November 9, 2014 at 7:27pm
If you having trouble determining the right Pangu to JB. Don't bother Jailbreaking, there is details to follow and if you can't don't that, you will just be frustrated.
Shaunree23 - November 9, 2014 at 5:35pm
Its not worth it. Alottttttttttttt of glitches on my iPhone 6 plus and the only thing I got from Cydia is movie box. Please b careful. Jailbreak at your on risk. I went back to stock shoot lol.

Cheeku - November 9, 2014 at 5:32pm
I'm using a turbo unlocked iphone 4S running on ios 6.0.1 and now i would like to update it to ios 8.1 nd jailbreak it. Can I? Or would it create any problem?
TechnoGeek - November 9, 2014 at 7:29pm
Yeah, you would need to unlock it again unless it's factory unlocked.
cheeku - November 10, 2014 at 4:56am
The thing here is mine is not factory unlocked.... But the 2 year contract period has been completed... What now?
Jaldales - November 9, 2014 at 5:25pm
After jailbreak, can I switch passcode And Touch ID on? I probed It on windows app And It doesn't work after reboot.
Lees - November 9, 2014 at 7:18pm
Yes, you can.
Ali - November 9, 2014 at 5:24pm
i did the jailbreak however cydia was not installed. the Pangu app was installed however it would instantly crash when started. any advice?
TechnoBite - November 9, 2014 at 5:27pm
Follow the JB to the tea. You skip any step then you can enjoy the crashing.
docisme - November 9, 2014 at 7:11pm
same thing happened to me. followed the directions, and no cydia installed. iphone 6
Lees - November 9, 2014 at 7:20pm
Make sure you use iTunes to get to iOS 8.1. Not software update. Also, try doing it after a fresh restore. That always works best.
TechnoGeek - November 9, 2014 at 7:34pm
@Docisme. If you followed the directions but did not pay attention to what you are using to JB, then it's the same thing. You used the older version of Pangu.
