FCC Leaks New Apple 'Magic Mouse 2' and Wireless Keyboard With Bluetooth LE 4.2

The FCC has leaked a new Apple Magic Mouse 2 and Wireless Keyboard featuring Bluetooth LE 4.2 support.

Bluetooth LE devices generally consume a fraction of the power of Classic Bluetooth devices. Apple's current generation Magic Mouse and Wireless Keyboard utilize the Bluetooth 2.0 standard, making the jump to Bluetooth LE 4.2 a significant improvement.

The filings, first spotted by 9to5Mac, also reveal that the Magic Mouse 2 could have an integrated battery.

Playing into the power efficiency, there are indicators in the new FCC filings that (at least) the new mouse will have an integrated Li-on battery pack, which could mean that the days of switching out AA batteries in your Magic Mouse are over. These will also be Apple’s first Bluetooth 4.2 products.

It's likely that Apple will launch these new devices with little fanfare, so please follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, or RSS for updates.

They will release an updated one with Siri and thinner keys found on the MacBook, but you're still going to buy number keyboard with he original though.
