Sure you can use both like a computer but are they built like a real computer? Where's the ports you would find that work with other displays? Where's the battery under the keys? Where's the hinge for a monitor?

Maybe is using a round-connection-style of trace (app config), ressults is more real... if you gonna real ressults, right?

This is a better alternative to wacom cintique 13hd in terms of price. All you need is an apple pencil and astropad app, plug it in your mac and your good to go! Plus you can do any other work on it. I know wacom is a pioneer in the tablet input industry but now there is a better alternative.

I'd go with iPad Pro. It may not be a full computer, but at least it's as powerful as one and makes working on it much more simpler especially for drawing. I am so glad I made this decision over the surface 4. iPad does have some things it may have from Mac and works differently, but it's enough I need to give up my computer.

Why, when you can get both, the one main thing that you can't do on the iPad is surf the net and download programs ( Apps ) which is really what I miss on my iPad, I'm really mad at Apple for not releasing a full OS X operating System on such a powerful iPad, and I'm pretty sure that Apple experimented but decided to keep us waiting and advertising this Pro as a painting canvas, why not, the money will keep on pouring in and this is all about with the new Apple ( old Apple was all about the customers, new Apple is all about the money), just think 5 years ago and you'll know I'm right.

If you read the last bit of my previous comment, I mentioned why I gave up my laptop for an iPad Pro because I barely do anything on my laptop when it comes to working on it, so thanks to what Apple does with drawing on it, I am a bit more productive on it. Sure iPad doesn't have USB ports, but I didn't really use USB ports to transfer anything between expandable storage devices, plus jailbreak can make your iPad Pro become an OSX tablet, and there are methods that may involve spending more money, but can actually make your iPad a surface even using Apple's operating system. I don't remember the link, but hey it actually works.

I totally understand, you prefer simplicity which is fine, just one thing, I've been jailbreaking since iOS 2.0 and if it wasn't for jailbreaks I wouldn't touch Apple devices but one thing for sure: in all the years of jailbreaking, nobody was able to run OS X operating System on any of the iOS devices ( iPod, iPhone and iPad ) with one exception the Apple Watch, it did run OS X but so slow that it took like 5 minutes to open and close a window, sure the Apple Watch was not build to run a computer and jailbreaking didn't help but the iPad Pro with so much power could run Apple OS X easy if Apple only wanted to which they don't because we do. And by the way having a full Operating System build in don't necessarily means complex, it does means that you got a choice. Also I'm very happy with my iPad which is jail broken also bought a 128GB iStick so now I got 256GB memory when needed and an App that lets me connect to my home computer no matter where I am over the net which lets me run my computer through the iPad and do anything a computer can do using 3Tera of memory, it's not perfection but it's close.

After all the rumors for the iPad Pro the results turned up very disappointing my money goes for the Surface Pro which is a full personal computer, the iPad Pro don't even get close without USB's extensions, less memory, and no OS X operating system and I'm only scratching the surface because there is so many more reasons why the Surface Pro is so much better ( a full on PC on a tablet ) what else could you ask for.

You do know it's still an iPad? Apple is not selling a computer. It's a bigger and faster iPad. Why would anyone expect USB port or OS X operating system? If apple was selling a keyboard less MacBook Pro then yeah. The surface is a laptop that can be customized to your daily use.

Absolutely right, it's only an ipad but there were rumors before the iPad Pro came out that Apple is following the Microsoft idea, just the size suggested that Apple might do it, a tablet running OS X operating system and believe me many are very disappointed. About the Surface USB 3 connectors on the Pro are great for any extension you can think of like hard drives, CD Drives or even Disk On Key, plus the Surface got a slot for memory card extension and a magnetic pen holder not to talk about the assortments of different keyboards including one that have a battery build in which extends the battery life of the Surface when attached also by magnets not to talk about the beautiful metal finish with a beautifully placed metal stand. And that's not all, Microsoft thought about everything, when you get to the office or home you plug the Surface in a special made case which is connected to a power source, mouse, keyboard and screen which instantly turns on and now you got a full on home computer, when you leave you Strip it all and you are back on a non laptop tablet. IT SEEMS LIKE MICROSOFT THOUGHT OF EVERYTHING!!! And don't get me wrong, I'll never give up on my iPad, iPhone, Apple TV and my MacBook Pro ( Laptop ) but I don't see anything wrong about devastating and trying new things.

This test felt like it was bland and didn't explain much, but will say the delay happened a bit more on the 4 compared to iPad Pro.
