Coach is planning to debut a series of designer bands for the Apple Watch as early as June, reports HauteEcriture.com.
David Boglin de Bautista was at a Coach boutique yesterday when a salesperson noticed his Apple Watch and informed him that Coach would be releasing bands for the device.
The sales associate then proceeded to show me a piece of paper with various products on them that included photos of about eight watch bands which included a white band, a black band, a red band, and a brown band. Some bands have charms on them and others have patterns stitched into them. Below the photos of each bands was some information about them and prices with each band retailing for $150.
While he didn't snap a photo of paper, Boglin de Bautista asked the sales representative to email him photos. She sent him a picture of three of the bands, as well as a closeup of one.
It's unclear if Coach is partnering direct with Apple similar to Hermes or whether it is just designing third party bands for the device.
Designer accessories are really expensive. A Bottega Veneta men's bracelet cost around $500.00 and it is made of simple intertwined leather. Even if you hate designer brands making the bands for Apple Watch there are still people who will buy them. Let's face it everybody here is brand conscious?! Can you go to a party wearing target or wallmart clothes? Of course you will wear your best designer/branded outfit! The same as with accessories associated with your tech. You can say it is not anymore an ordinary apple watch because it got a designer band in it and for you the value increased. If you say they will not sell because they look like dog collars, it will sell because you are not their customers. That's reality and you have a choice.
