Those steps must be outdated now. Only thing I needed to do was adding RandomRing and configuring through the app itself. No iTunes or other tweaking required.

has anyone gotten this to work? there is nothing random about it, it just plays the RandomRing file and that's it. fail!

There are two listings for RandomRing in Cydia. One works, one does not. Make sure you select the one in the Multimedia section as instructed.

It works... you only have to restart and call yourself twice.

one of them is an actual app with a GUI, and naming one of your songs RandomRing is unnecessary. you guys should update it to show that one. it's very simple and works rather well. thanks for the tip, though.
