Adobe Systems Inc. has begun work to create a media player destined for Apple Inc.'s iPhone, Chief Executive Shantanu Narayen said Tuesday.
Narayen's comments come after Steve Jobs has indicated that Flash is not available for the iPhone due to performance issues. Steve claimed that the mobile version of Flash was too limited and the full version would not run well.
"We believe Flash is synonymous with the Internet experience, and we are committed to bringing Flash to the iPhone," Narayen said. "We have evaluated (the software developer tools) and we think we can develop an iPhone Flash player ourselves."
