Samsung is rolling out 'AirDrop support' to its Galaxy S26 lineup, enabling direct file sharing with Apple devices through its Quick Share feature.
In a newsroom announcement, Samsung said the feature will begin rolling out on March 23, starting in Korea before expanding to the United States later this week. A broader release across Canada, Europe, Latin America, Japan, Hong Kong, Southeast Asia, and Taiwan will follow at a later date.
Owners of the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra can enable the functionality using a new "Share with Apple devices" toggle in Quick Share settings. Once enabled, users can send photos, videos, and documents directly to nearby iPhones, iPads, and Macs over a wireless connection, similar to AirDrop.
Both devices need to be nearby with sharing enabled—on iPhone, AirDrop must be set to "Everyone" to receive files, while Galaxy users need to make their device visible through Quick Share. Samsung notes the feature may briefly disconnect from Wi-Fi while searching for or transferring files.
The move follows a similar step by Google last year. Google introduced Quick Share compatibility with Apple devices on the Pixel 10 series before later expanding support to the Pixel 9.
Samsung says AirDrop support will debut on the Galaxy S26 series, with expansion to additional Galaxy devices planned for a later date.
