iPhone Fold Dummy Surfaces in White, May Be Only Launch Color [Images]

Detailed images of an iPhone Fold dummy unit have surfaced online, offering a clear look at the rumored device's physical layout and finish.



Shared by Sonny Dickson on X, the non-functional mockup shows the foldable handset entirely in white. Dickson notes this might be the only finish available when the device eventually hits the market. A single-color release would be an unusual move for the modern iPhone lineup, though Apple has historically restricted color choices for major new hardware categories like the Vision Pro and the original iPhone.


The dummy closely aligns with earlier physical models we tracked this spring. It utilizes a passport-style form factor with a wider 4:3 aspect ratio. When opened, the inner screen provides a workspace similar in size to an iPad mini. A front-facing camera for the internal display sits in the top-left corner, departing from the centralized cutouts used on Apple's standard smartphones. The outer cover display features a subtle curve along its edges.

Around the back, the device uses a horizontal dual-camera plateau reminiscent of the camera design introduced on the iPhone Air. This housing contains two lenses, a flash, and a redesigned microphone featuring seven drilled holes.



Physical inputs on the chassis are also notably streamlined. The volume buttons and power key share the same edge to keep complex wiring away from the central hinge mechanism, and there is no visible Action Button. Apple is widely expected to skip Face ID on this model and instead integrate a side-mounted Touch ID sensor into the power button to minimize the overall thickness of the frame.
