A short video posted to X is giving us our first real look at the iPhone Fold dummy model in motion. The clip follows images shared earlier today and offers a clearer sense of how the book-style foldable might feel in the hand.
The most obvious change is the horizontal camera bar on the back of the device. It's a significant departure from the iPhone 17 Pro, which uses a large rectangular camera bump. The new layout likely helps Apple accommodate the required optics while working around the internal hinge mechanism. The video also shows a completely smooth left edge, suggesting the volume and power buttons have shifted to the right side to keep wiring away from the hinge.
When opened, the dummy reveals a large internal display expected to measure about 7.8 inches. To keep the profile thin, Apple is reportedly using a side-mounted Touch ID sensor built into the power button rather than a Face ID array. This approach also frees up space for what is expected to be the largest battery in iPhone history.
The foldable has reportedly entered trial production at Foxconn. Apple is also working on a dual-layer glass solution to make the screen crease as difficult to see as possible. Once launched, the device will likely feature an iPad-style interface that enables side-by-side multitasking on the larger display.
