Apple TV Announces 'The Choir' Starring Ruth Jones and James Corden

Ruth Jones and James Corden are writing and starring in 'The Choir,' an eight-episode comedic drama now in production for Apple TV. The series is due in 2027 and marks their first project together since 'Gavin & Stacey: The Finale.'

Corden plays Ben, who returns to his small English hometown after living abroad and comes face to face with his estranged sister Lisa, played by Jones. She has remained in town; the story asks whether a struggling local choir can help mend their rift.

The ensemble includes Tom Davis, Rosie Sheehy, Susan Brown, Jason Watkins, David Harewood and Alexandria Riley. Hannah Waddingham, James McAvoy and Jim Broadbent are set to appear as guests.

Various Artists Limited and TidyTwo are producing the series. Jennifer Sheridan and Jim Archer will direct, while Jones and Corden are executive producers alongside Phil Clarke and Jack Bayles. Apple has not announced a specific premiere date.
