Apple Announces 'Pro and Tell' Event for October 28 [Video]

Apple has announced a special "Pro and tell" event in Los Angeles on Wednesday, October 28, at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time (1:00 p.m. Eastern). Invitations sent to members of the press describe an in-person "Apple Experience," with new Macs and an iPad mini expected.

The invitation does not identify the products being unveiled. Marketing chief Greg Joswiak also shared a short video of a glowing, layered Apple logo, writing: "Can't wait to pro and tell next week."

A redesigned MacBook Pro is expected to headline the lineup. Reports have described 14-inch and 16-inch models with OLED touchscreens, a Dynamic Island, and lighter enclosures. Those notebooks are expected to use M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, rather than the M6 chip rumored for separate updates to the existing-design entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro and iMac.

An OLED iPad mini is also expected, replacing the LCD screen in the current model. Other rumored changes include an A20 Pro chip, a front-facing camera moved to the landscape edge, and a revamped speaker system. The final refresh rate remains uncertain, with both 60Hz and 120Hz versions described in prior reporting.

Retail preparations have pointed to possible availability on November 6, based on an Apple Store floor reset scheduled for the preceding evening. That remains an inferred release date, not an announced one. Apple has not confirmed product pricing or when orders will open.
