New Macs and OLED iPad mini Could Go on Sale November 6 [Gurman]

Apple's upcoming Macs and OLED iPad mini could go on sale Friday, November 6, based on retail preparations outlined by Mark Gurman in his latest Power On podcast. The possible release would follow the company's late-October product launch in Los Angeles.

Apple Stores are planning a major floor reset on the evening of November 5, continuing into the next morning. That timing led him to suggest a Friday release, rather than report a confirmed on-sale date.

Apple is already inviting media to an October 28 launch experience in Los Angeles, where touchscreen MacBook Pros, an OLED iPad mini, and M6 Macs are expected. That would leave just over a week between the unveiling and the possible retail debut.

The creator-focused launch also includes a two-day program for selected influencers, with an October 27 dinner and meetings with John Ternus and other executives. For some influencers, Apple also covers hotels and business-class travel to attend launches.

The redesigned MacBook Pro models are expected in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes, with OLED touchscreens, a Dynamic Island, and a lighter enclosure. Earlier reporting has described M5 Pro and M5 Max chips for those notebooks. Separate M6 updates are expected for the existing-design 14-inch MacBook Pro and iMac.

For the iPad mini, the final refresh rate remains uncertain. Gurman has been told of units with 120Hz ProMotion as well as 60Hz versions, leaving it unclear which specification will reach customers. That differs from an earlier 60Hz-only supply-chain rumor.

Other expected tablet changes include an A20 Pro chip, a front-facing camera moved to the landscape edge, and a revamped speaker system. The replacement is also expected to be considerably more expensive than the current iPad mini, though the previously floated $799 figure was an estimate.
