Apple has updated Pages, Numbers, and Keynote for iPhone and iPad with a new Intelligent Assistant, adding conversational help with documents, spreadsheets, and presentations for Apple Creator Studio subscribers.

Apple's version 15.4.1 release notes describe the feature as a beta available in U.S. English. It requires an Apple Intelligence-capable device running iOS 27 or iPadOS 27 or later.

In Pages, the assistant can help start a first draft or work with an existing document to edit and organize its contents. Natural-language requests can draft a section, adjust the tone, or generate images and shapes.

Keynote extends that approach to presentations, with tools to generate slides and presenter notes, add animations, and refine a deck. It can also create images and shapes based on a written request.

For spreadsheet work, Numbers can generate tables, suggest charts, and help build complex formulas. The assistant understands the spreadsheet it is working with and can help uncover insights or visualize its data.

Across all three apps, users can ask for up-to-date information and have it incorporated into their file. The assistant also offers guidance on advanced features and suggestions for what to try.

Subscribers get new templates in Pages and Numbers, new themes in Keynote, and curated videos in the Content Hub. Separately, Keynote adds a beta Interchange Format (.keyx) for all users. Apple describes it as an open format for importing and exporting presentations that makes it easier to work with their contents outside the app.

The Creator Studio subscription costs $12.99 per month or $129 per year in the U.S. and includes Apple's professional video, music, and image-editing apps. Creating, editing, and collaborating in the iWork apps remains free; the new assistant requires the subscription.

Version 15.4.1 is currently listed for Pages, Numbers, and Keynote on iPhone and iPad. At publication, the U.S. Mac App Store listings still show version 15.4 from September 29, without the Intelligent Assistant release notes.
