Pocket-Lint shared an elevator ride with the owner of a white iPhone 4 at a press event in New York City, and learned some interesting information along the way.
The owner of the device, who didn't want to be identified, said Apple headquarters is swimming with white iPhone and that he got the hook-up from a friend of his.
Well, according to our jacket wearing gent, Apple is having trouble getting its two suppliers in the Far East to match the white used in the manufacturing of the parts. The white home button colour doesn't match the white front face plate colour, it turns out.
Apple being the perfectionist that it is, isn't happy with this and therefore isn't happy to sell it to the general public, supposedly.

Apple is worried because the white color of the Home button don't match between regions? How about worrying about the antenna issue and become the perfectionist they want to be!!

www.iresq.com does the conversion and honestly the white version isn't all that OMG anymore. there's so much skins and cases that are out right now that'll make your iphone look much cooler.

Honestly Thats an aftermarket part. Notice the top metal mark above the Ear piece? Our company does the conversion to the full white iPhone four.

meh.. for all you know he could have bought the aftermarket parts off ebay and have them installed. trust me I've done a few of these phones already. people buy the parts and I install them for them.
I'm not 100% sure but maybe apple did the same thing they did with the 3g/3gs were the white iphone would have a white headphone jack and grey midboard and black would have those black but to me, the pictures of that iphone 4 it looks like the headphone jack is black.
