For everyone who is still emailing us with problems getting GreenPois0n to install Cydia, you can safely use RedSn0w to install Cydia instead.

For those having trouble getting Cydia via the GP Loader, just let redsn0w install it (don't choose the Monte option)

(The reason that works is tethered RS doesn't touch boot sequence at all, but GP does. They stay out of each others way)

Hopefully this will not be necessary once traffic settles down. You can download RedSn0w from here.

As a side note, those who are currently running a tethered jailbreak can reportedly install GP over their tethered jailbreak to become untethered; although a clean restore is recommended.

Hi, How do I do a "clean restore" as the page suggests? Should the "clean restore" happen after running the Greenpois0n on the previous untethered 3GS?

why is it that the last 3 redsnows all give me different errors cuz my 3gs new bootrom has been jb on 4.2.1 fine but loader taking forever and now i cant seem to find a redsnow that will give me cydia and im using a mac has anyone found a redsnow that works on NEW 3GS IM TIRED OF SEEING UNEXPECTED ERROR !!

is there a way to change the gp logo when it boot? it scares me.

Delete the "animate" file from "/usr/bin/" to disable the animated logo, and get the default apple logo.

Thanks for the info. That worked for me. It may not seem like a big deal, but having an animated logo really sucks, especially an "evil one"...very unprofessional.

Extra note: When you use redsn0w 0.9.6rc8 there is no option to select "Monte", however if you use redsn0w 0.9.7b6 there is the "Monte" option, dont select this. You also need, if you use redsn0w the 4.2.1 ipsw (eg. for the iPad: iPad1,1_4.2.1_8C148_Restore.ipsw). It works fine for me. Suc6

Which is the "monte" option in 0.97b6 - to 'deselect' I only get these check boxes cydia yup custom bundle? iPad basband (no - I"m on 15.03 dewactivate (? no) Just boot Just enter

redsn0w worked perfect to install cydia (even did the JB on mac and cydia on PC)

I tried it on iPT2G MC and redSn0w 0.9.6rc8 says ipod touch 2g MC model not yet supported. (tried with 0.9.7b6 too, same)
