Hi. Just wandering if anyone out there is facing the same problem as me. I followed the tutorial and successfuly jailbreaked my 8gig 3g phone. The only problem is when I try to use cydia, the program just loads and crashes, then goes back to the home screen. Everything else works fine thou. Anyone knows what went wrong? Maybe I screwed up somewhere? Great tutorial btw. Tumbs up!

try turn off 3G from the setting... it may help for those who dont hv service. after winpwn, the one problem i hv is phone button..... when i click on the phone button it freeze for few second, then go back to main screen... anyone can help ??

and to anwser your question adrian your phone cant be unlocked, this tutorial is just to jailbreak which will not unlock your phone... I believe they havent come out with a tutorial to unlock your 3g phone yet

I jailbroked my iphone 3g 2.0.1 about five times and had to restore it to its regular settings cause everytime I install cydia and installer my phone button doesnt seem to work. Everything else seems to work fine and I can recieve calls and what not however everytime I hit the phone button it goes to the call screen and then just goes back to the home screen. I noticed so far everytime I installed boss preferences this happens? Am i correct on this? or is there something else that is doing this?

To the guy below me... if you're doing this whole process to begin with, you'll know that they're grayed out for a reason.

Same for me. I'm with Orange + 8GoI-tunes 7.07043. The "iphone" could not be restored. An unknown error occured(6). I did it several times,folllowed the process carefully, everything in fine, i reboot th PC, DFU=black screen... but nothing works in fact.

Hi thanx for the info..but this guide is for the 3G phone but it dosent really looks like you in da pics shown is 2G phones...coz in da 3G in da advance tab all others options are grayed out cant choose any.... can u plz tell is dis only with the 3G ?? dint really get tried the other comps to but the same probs...

i need help big time. i did everything like said, everything works, except one major thing... I cant use any of the calling features!! and the network service doesnt appear in the options... my phone is just blank on the top left corner where the carrier is suppose to be. iv been restoring rebuilding like 5 times with differant settings each time. when i use the build with the activated phone it jailbreaks but no phone features. when iuse the build without activision it doesnt complete when restoring the ipod. im using this build iPhone1,2_2.0.1_5B108_Restore.ipsw im on version 2.0.1 right now please help me this is very frustrating

Adrian......Step 11, you will see a pop-up window that shows "Successfully created IPSW file. Click OK. Go to WINPWN main menu and click iPwner button. Now, open the custom IPSW you just created. You will then be notified that your iTunes has been Pwned! Then continue to Step 14.

worked for me, i got one error, but then i tried again and it worked. For those who aren't getting "'itunes has been Pwned" make sure you have "use iTunes checked". Also follow the steps one by one. bit by bit. After you get the "ipsw done" command, Click the Ipwner button on the main menu. Now it should work

Thnx For the Tutorial It really worked after UNCHECKING youtube activation and UNcheck activate phone! And i have a T-mobile phone so i guess this option is for any carrier that planned or teamed up with aplle Iphone! To Steve Anderson. I'm having the same problem with Cydia. First it promt me to instal 5 major upgrades it then crased right away.. by holdin the offswith for 10 seconds your iphone wil switch off regardless so you don't really need to recover! Despite of the crashes i think its best to wait a little while longer until the Dev. Team does an update to ensure Cydia and Installer works! They do warn you that both app. are Buggy!

I completed everyhting and it worked fine except for one thing. After I restored the phone with the custom ispw, I then restored from backup to get all of my setting. It completed the restore from backup, but iTunes still displays the set up your iphone screen and not my iphone details. Someone help please.

cydia crashes after any apps bought off app store are synced with phone any ides if your bought apps are not synced cydia works ok

Has anyone done that with the official unlocked italian phone? Should I mark YouTube Fix?

1st Question: If I pwn my iPhone 3G now, and September rolls around and Apple releases fw 2.1, I'll just be able to update through iTunes to a legit firmware, and then pwn again (when there's an updated Winpwn of course)? 2nd: One of the steps in your tutorial says we have to use iPwner, and that pwns iTunes. What exactly does that mean that iTunes is pwned? Will an update to iTunes de-pwn it? Do I need the latest iTunes for this to work? If other iPods use that computer and iTunes, will there be any problems with that? Thanks!

stay clear of cydia I have done 6 restores now my phone locks up when I use cydia my last restore was with installer only a guess what no problems so far I have spent over 10 hours restoring so do your self a favour and untick cydia box
