Elgato Releases EyeTV 3.1

Elgato today released EyeTV 3.1, which introduces a new electronic programming guide for North America and the Smart Series Guide feature, which automatically records an entire season of a TV show. The update also adds parental controls and numerous other enhancements. EyeTV 3.1 is available immediately as a free update for users of EyeTV 3.

EyeTV 3 software turns your Mac into the coolest TV in the house. Watch, pause, and rewind live television on your Mac at your desk or from the comfort of your couch. Search the Program Guide using multiple criteria and create Smart Guides to subscribe to TV series and topics of your choice. Save channel lists for different locations and switch between them easily. Edit unwanted content from your recordings, create Smart Playlists to keep them organized, and export them for post-processing in other Mac video applications. Click a button to put your own TV shows and movies into iTunes to sync with an iPod, iPhone, or Apple TV. Share EyeTV recordings with other Macs over a local network, or access them via Wi-Fi on an iPod®, iPhone™ and selected SmartPhones.

Premium EPG data
EyeTV 3.1 introduces a new electronic programming guide for users in the United States and Canada: TV Guide, provided by Macrovision Solutions Corporation. The TV Guide EPG features 14 days of guide data and provides rich cast, ratings and genre information for many programs. One year of EPG service is included for new and all existing EyeTV 3 users. After that, an additional year of service is available for US$ 19.95.


Smart Series Guides
EyeTV 3.1 enables users to automatically record an entire season of their favorite show using EyeTV's new Smart Series Guide feature. A Smart Series Guide can be created with a single click. It monitors the EyeTV library for missed or already existing episodes of a show and will automatically record or skip repeats.

Parental Controls
To help parents protect their children from objectionably content, EyeTV 3.1 adds support for Parental Controls. EyeTV supports US (TV and MPAA), Canadian, and European DVB rating systems. EyeTV's Parental Controls also feature a whitelist to restrict access to certain channels.

Pricing and Availability
EyeTV 3.1 is available as a free update for users of EyeTV 3. EyeTV 3 is available from Elgato’s Online Shop (www.elgato.com) at a price of USD $79.95. Users of EyeTV 2 who obtained their software license separately or in combination with a hardware product on or after December 1st, 2007, are eligible for a free update. Users of EyeTV 2 who obtained their license before this time can upgrade to EyeTV 3 at the reduced price of USD$ 39.95.
