Apple Granted Patent That Could Help End Blurry iPhone Photos

Apple has been granted a patent for a 'Image Capturing Device Having Continuous Image Capture'.

The basic idea is that your iPhone could continuously be taking photos while in camera mode. When you press the shutter button it could look back on its buffer of pictures and find the best one.

A method can include continuously capturing images with an image capturing device. The method can include storing a predetermined number of the sequence of images in a buffer. The device can receive a user request to capture an image. The method can automatically select one of the buffered images based on one or more parameters.

For example, the selection may be based on an exposure time of one of the buffered images and optionally an image quality parameter (e.g., image contrast). Alternatively, the selection may be based only on the image quality parameter. The sequence of images can be captured just prior to or concurrently with receiving the user request.

Why not just make the iPhones camera better ie lens speed sensor faster write to memory? Most digital cameras can take three frames or more and you pick the best? This don't seem that big a deal. All said and done a phone is not a camera. A blurry photo get a good tripod lol and a remote and no blur. If you want really good photos get a good digital lsr. Learn to support phone when you take a photo that will help. Apple should spend this time on the phone ie calls and Internet better os better receive not taking photos.

Lol.. This has been available on the Samsung Galaxy S3 and Note 2 for a while.
