Apple Releases macOS Tahoe 26.6.1, Sequoia 15.7.9, Sonoma 14.8.9 to Fix Screen Sharing Vulnerability

Apple has released macOS Tahoe 26.6.1, along with macOS Sequoia 15.7.9 and macOS Sonoma 14.8.9, to patch a Screen Sharing authentication vulnerability affecting all three operating systems.

According to Apple's security notes, an attacker on the same network may be able to authenticate to Screen Sharing without valid credentials. Apple says the authentication issue was resolved with improved state management. The vulnerability is tracked as CVE-2026-65400 and was reported by Alfredo Pesoli (@__rev) via Bynario Atlas.


The releases carry build numbers 25G76 for macOS Tahoe 26.6.1, 24G830 for macOS Sequoia 15.7.9, and 23J631 for macOS Sonoma 14.8.9. They come just over a week after the release of macOS Tahoe 26.6.
