Litmus has announce Alkaline 1.0 for Mac OS X. Alkaline is a cross-browser testing tool for web designers, letting them painlessly test their website designs on 17 different Windows browsers in seconds. Since Alkaline uses a vast remote grid of Windows computers to gather website screenshots, no installation of Windows is required, nor any other additional software.

Alkaline also integrates tightly with Panic's Coda, and Macromate's TextMate, allowing for instant cross-browser website testing from right inside these popular coding tools.

Alkaline has a wide range of Windows browsers available for testing:
* Internet Explorer (versions 5 through 8)
* Firefox (versions 1 through 3)
* Flock
* Google Chrome
* Netscape (versions 7 through 9)
* Opera (versions 7 through 9)
* Safari 3.1 (Windows version)
* Sea Monkey

Additionally, designers can also use Alkaline to test on these Linux browsers:
* Firefox (versions 2 through 3)
* Konqueror

Alkaline was developed for Litmus by Shiny Development. Shiny are dedicated to producing the very best software such as Alkaline for Mac OS X and for iPhone, for themselves and for third parties.

Pricing and availability:
Alkaline 1.0 is entirely free of charge to test website designs in two browsers (Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 2.0 on Windows). To access all 17 available web browsers the user can either purchase a 24 hour pass for $24 (USD), or a monthly subscription for $49 (USD) per month. Alkaline 1.0 is available to download now.
