Foxconn's subsidiary in Shanxi, China has received government approval to perform maintenance on Apple's iPhone, according to the Economic Daily News.

In March, Foxconn also started maintenance service business at its subsidiary in Henan, China to repair iPhones from seven countries including the US, the UK, Japan and Australia. The business model helps Apple to save 40% of its costs on its smartphone maintenance services, added the paper.

Notably, Apple dropped the price of a screen replacement for those with AppleCare+ to just $29 alongside the launch of the iPhone 7.
