ADS Software Group Releases ART 4.4

ADS Software Group has announced ART 4.4, an update to their very popular and critically acclaimed pocket art gallery, slideshow and quiz for iPhone and iPod touch. Developed specifically to take advantage of the iPhone's unique capabilities and interface, ART is a database of over 6000 masterpieces featuring 204 famous artists with full biographies.

Art students, beginners and hobbyists alike can search by artist's name or work title, browse online galleries of works (in portrait or landscape mode), and discover top selling paintings. Each image and artist is accompanied by a link to a Wikipedia entry. Users can effortlessly create their own list of favorite artists in ART's built-in My Gallery, add and/or remove them, and view an animated slideshow for random pictures.

Additionally, users may save images to their photo library, use them as wallpaper, email links to friends and family, or export them to their computer. The full database of images (400MB) can be downloaded and browsed offline. And with ART's handy parental control feature, users can easily hide all nude and horror pictures. Students will appreciate ART's built-in Quiz game. Leveraging Openfeint integration with quiz's, see how other people play, challenge players and post results on Facebook and Twitter.

Version 4.4 is a major update, featuring an completely revised user interface, and minor bug fixes. Art fans can now add an unlimited number of paintings to their favorite artists. Just find and open the images in ART's built-in browser and tap "Save". And with ART's built-in browser, it's easy to open Wikipedia and other websites for additional information about artists. ART now offers Openfeint integration, with global and local history of quiz scores with leaderboards. Achievements allow users to track their progress in learning art. Challenges allow them play with other people, find new friends, with a nice chat room for art fans.

ART version 4.4 brings the total number of artists in the database to 204 and adds several more modern artists, including Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, Rene Magritte, Mark Rothko, Joan Miro, Grant Wood, Georgia O'Keefe, Marc Chagall, Diego Rivera, Edward Hopper, Ernst Kirchner, Paul Klee, Roul Dufy, Henri Matisse, Wassily Kandinsky, Edouard Vuillard, Edvard Munch, Arshile Gorky, Frida Kahlo, Francis Bacon, Jackson Pollock, Andrew Wyeth, Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, and Fernando Botero.
