Thrill Seeker 2.0 Enhances Theme Park Visits

Theme Park Nerd has announced the availability of Thrill Seeker 2.0, an application for the iPhone and iPod touch which helps users to make the most out of theme park visits. The app, which currently covers 20 parks around the globe, provides information on all of the rides, attractions and facilities within each park. What's more, thanks to the iPhone's built-in technologies Thrill Seeker can display items nearby, show your location on a map, and even provide intelligent directions - whether it be to your favourite ride or the nearest toilet!

"We're extremely excited about Thrill Seeker 2.0" said Mark Locker, founder of Theme Park Nerd Ltd, "Since Thrill Seeker launched last year we've been working hard to improve every aspect of the app, as well as add an extra 11 parks to our line-up".

The new release has been re-written from the ground up and boasts several new features, one of which is built-in maps. "Having maps within the app is a very useful feature. Google's satellite imagery is 100% accurate, so we can highlight your exact position, allowing you to see everything around you in a glance. We're even working on our own hand-drawn maps which will be available as a free update this summer".

Maps also allow for a much improved directions feature, which now offers a sat-nav like experience to users. "Having maps allows us to plot the route you need to take to get from your current location to your chosen ride, attraction or facility. We've also added a compass and the current distance remaining - it works incredibly well".

Also new to the app is photos, with a collection of over 1,500 already available. All photos can be downloaded to your device right from within the app, allowing you to use them as wallpapers if you wish.

It's not just the major changes that make Thrill Seeker 2.0 such a significant update though, "No stone has been unturned with the re-development of the app. From user interface improvements to faster calculation of directions and improved wireless updating - everything is better."

Here's a full list of Thrill Seeker features:
* View your location on a map
* Display rides, attractions and facilities nearby
* Get intelligent, sat-nav like directions to any ride, attraction or facility
* Search through items
* Filter items by category
* View photos of rides, attractions and facilities
* View detailed ride descriptions, histories and specifications

* See what facilities a ride has, such as on-ride photos or property storage
* Use the location based features even if you don't have a GPS capable device with "manual locations" mode
* Receive automatic wireless updates, bringing you the latest park info seamlessly

This is a great app, loads of info and photos, and the maps are a great feature, it'll definitely make visiting theme parks that little bit easier and less confusing.

Just downloaded this and it looks to be pretty good! Tonnes of info in it and the directions feature is rather clever. Seems there are still some quality apps hitting the app store after all!
