Jailbreak 6.1 while preserving baseband

My iPhone's been on 5.0.1 for quite some time now and I've decided to upgrade to 6.1 but I'm not quite sure about this because I haven't factory-unlocked it. I'm on baseband 4.10.01 and I'm using a gevey-sim to be able to use my own provider. Does jailbreaking with evasi0n upgrade my baseband? And how can I get to 6.1 jailbroken without losing the ability to use my own provider?

Jailbreaking will never upgrade your baseband, upgrading your iOS will, so you need to be careful with that. You can prevent a baseband upgrade by cooking an IPSW file which you can make trough Redsn0w or sn0wbreeze, but unfortunately iOS 6.1 it still just coming out and by this time you can only cook that IPSW file with Sn0wbreeze (2.9.8) which currently only supports Windows, but I'm sure that Redsn0w will upgrade shortly to support iOS 6.1
