Apple TV has debuted a first-look teaser for its upcoming darkly comedic thriller, "Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed." Starring Emmy Award winner Tatiana Maslany and Jake Johnson, the series will make its global debut on Wednesday, May 20.
The 10-episode half-hour series will launch with its first two episodes, followed by new episodes every Wednesday through July 15. Created and showrun by David J. Rosen, who also created Apple's detective drama Sugar, the story follows newly divorced mother Paula, played by Maslany.
After becoming convinced she witnessed a crime, Paula falls down a dangerous rabbit hole of blackmail, murder, and youth soccer. As she launches her own investigation, she must navigate a custody battle and an identity crisis, uncovering a conspiracy that could reshape her life and family. This teaser provides the first footage of the series following a first look shared by the company in February.
The ensemble cast includes Murray Bartlett, Brandon Flynn, Jessy Hodges, Jon Michael Hill, Charlie Hall, Kiarra Hamagami Goldberg, Nola Wallace, and Dolly De Leon. David Gordon Green directs the series and serves as an executive producer.
Produced by Apple Studios, the series is written and executive produced by Rosen. Additional executive producers include Simon Kinberg and Audrey Chon for Genre Films, Bard Dorros for Anonymous Content, and Tony Hernandez, Lilly Burns, and Elise Henderson for Counterpart Studios.
"Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed" joins a spring slate that includes the Keanu Reeves dark comedy Outcome and the psychological thriller Imperfect Women.
