Apple and The King's Trust have launched Creative Labs, a UK education program aimed at helping young people prepare for careers in the creative industries. Participants will use Apple technology and work with company experts through workshops and mentorship.

The first cohort will include up to 20 people ages 18 to 30. Sessions began this week with music industry and creative workshops, and more sessions and cohorts are planned over the next year.

Those opening workshops are tied to the recent opening of Apple Music Hall at Battersea Power Station in London. The 600-capacity venue includes recording and broadcast facilities for capturing and livestreaming performances. Tim Cook and The King met participants there for the launch.

The partners are also developing AI literacy resources for educators and young people. The resources are intended to support creativity and help teachers integrate newer technologies into their lessons.

Since 2019, Apple has supported science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics education through the Trust's Achieve program, helping expand it to schools in every region of the UK. Students use the company's coding resources to develop apps addressing needs in their communities. Its 12-week Team program also provides Apple technology and learning resources to help young adults earn a Personal Development and Employability qualification.

The charity celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. Founded in 1976 by The King when he was Prince of Wales, it has supported 1.3 million young people across the UK through education, employment, and business programs.
