Apple's North Carolina Data Center Will Be Completed This Year

Apple has announced that their massive new data center in North Carolina will be complete by year's end.

During today's financial conference call, Apple revealed that the data center will be complete by the end of the year and they will begin using it then. Due to the massive size of the new data center, many have speculated that it will represent Apple's push into cloud computing. iTunes streaming as well as wireless iPad/iPhone syncing have been listed amongst the possibilities.

Gov. Bev Perdue announced on June 3rd, 2009 that Apple had selected North Carolina as the location for a new data center. The company is expected to invest more than $1 billion in the project over nine years.

This is it, folks! You're witnessing the birth of Skynet. In a few years time, when Apple becomes the size of the Umbrella Corporation, Skynet will achieve awareness and preemptively launch a nuclear strike, code name F.A.R.T., against targets in Iran, Afghanistan, and that little country where Nokia comes from.
