LifetoneTechnology is demonstrating iPhonECG, a system that turns your iPhone 4 into a Electrocardiography monitor (ECG).

Electrocardiography (ECG or EKG) is a transthoracic interpretation of the electrical activity of the heart over time captured and externally recorded by skin electrodes. [W]

The case features two electrodes that can used by placing the device in your hands or by placing it on your chest. An app then identifies and charts your heart rhythm.

LifetoneTechnology will introduce the device at CES.

This is one cool device. My question is normally n ekg needs 3 leads. I believe he said this only does one at a time. Why not make it a dongle where the leads go out to the patient, giving a clear reading, and not dependent on place it is located. I responded to Hurricane Katrina and Rita, and this device would have made life great, especially if you can use already exisiting EKG pads. Just my 2 cents.
