Apple has reportedly added a new iPhone 4 and iPod touch to its internal inventory system, according to a 9to5Mac report.
Three new iPod touch models have appeared in the system with the codename N81A. N81 is the codename for the fourth-generation black iPod touch, so the A likely represents the string of the three new white models.
The site also notes that two new iPhone SKUs have shown up in the system but interestingly these are tweaked iPhone 4 devices.
The new device's codename is N90A and this represents very minor changes from the iPhone 4 which is the N90. In fact, this may be an iPhone 4 an 8GB version as previously rumored. It is very possible that the two SKUs mean black and white models, but that is unconfirmed. We don't think Apple's next-generation iPhone coming next week- would be labeled as an N90A as it includes major internal hardware upgrades that would typically constitute a new codename.
Perhaps the rumors of both low end 8GB iPhone 4S and a redesigned iPhone 5 were correct?
I hope there is a redesigned iPhone cuz I am not selling my i4 to get an i4S. That is just lame and lazy on Apple's part. It'll be another 3GS Which was LAME and LAZY!!!!
I completely agree, except the 3GS over the 3G was a big change cause the 3G was slow and same internals as the 2G
But as you, I won't get a "4s" unless its a major update. Apple needs to do something big to compete with other hardware on the market now. Im sorry but just voice control and more CPU /RAM power wont do it
i doubt there will be a complete redsign! both 3g and 3gs looked the same i expect the iphon 4s/5 will look same as 4. only diffrence will be internal such as an a5 chip!
Ok, so here's how it's going to go down...
They have introduced the 4S into their inventory system because it will be available the day of the announcement, October 4th. The iPhone5 hasn't been added to inventory yet because it won't be available until mid-October. They can add the iPhone5 to their inventory system anytime after the announcement and no one will care. It's a pretty slick move on Apple's behalf.
