lol, looks like someone trying to steal a few iP4S imei's. The ip is somewhere in France near Gueret, maybe where he lives. The .crt address install + running siri is prob getting your ident from your ip4s. As they say "it's a trap"

looks to me like they're collecting iphone 4s data for later use - nothing harmful on my opinion. the more 4s they have the less possibility to have their key blacklisted. this would allow to use siri on other (non 4s) devices

Sounds to me like someone dosnt care about if their iP4S's siri works in the future. If i had a iP4S, i would not risk giving a strainger god knows what information from my iP4S. I'd only think about it if the dev team or chronic asked for it.

I don't own an iPhone 4S :) I just got a nice lookin` iPhone 4. I don't need Siri at all. But I'm sick and tired of seeing people complaining about a thing they can't deal with and in the end they blame the one who spent days, weeks...maybe months, how should I know..to get this Siri work on iPhone 4. I, personally think, that's not fair :) So all you Siri lovers, get a life or try to support those who try to bring you what you want on your devices ;) It's just my opinion.

OK, after digging some sites, here is what i got:
1-Before install h1siri you must uninstall siri0us. That's why all the brick.
2- After installation your video cam won't work and related apps too. For that there is a fix. Just Google it.
3-No connection to server. They say they gonna migrate to another server. Well the team behind this is chinese. Good luck apple trying to shut down something in China.
4-This absolutely proves Iphone 4 is more than capable to use Siri, and i feel disapointed with Apple as they should provide this. You have so much money, don't need to delay this to better sell the Iphone 4s. IMO

I'm not going to provide a link, but a google search for "h1siri.0.1.deb" yields plenty of locations to download it online.
For those who don't know how to install a package this way, use MobileTerminal, or SSH into your device, to run the command 'dpkg -i /path/to/h1siri.0.1.deb'. Alternatively you can use iFile, one of the best jailbreak apps.
A couple notes of caution: this absolutely is illegal, it is reported to brick some people's devices, and their servers are down (probably for a long time and they may even be forced shut down permanently before they are able to come back up). I checked the files installed by the package, and sure enough it copies Apple's copyrighted files. I installed it fine and my phone is stable, but because their servers are offline it is useless.
One link I will provide: http://techcrunch.com/2011/12/05/dont-do-it-new-siri-port-h1siri-is-illegal-breaks-your-iphone/

okay is he using a gsm or cdma phone? by the look of it its gsm so how can we tell if its the iphone 4 or 4s? at 00:18..it shows a simcard tray so if its a the cdma version this is the 4s which runs siri already. this is a very shady video. not enough proof but just enough shown to make you believe that its an iphone 4 running siri.
....and to the guy who was tellin people to f**k off and upgrade....ITS NOT worth an extra 2 years on our contracts for something that we can get for free. your only mad that you got duped into upgrading to the same device as an iphone 4. Ill wait to upgrade to iphone 5. once that comes out with something better than siri, im sure you'll be back on iclarified.com searching how to port something to your beloved 4s.

Guys, this thing isn't going to work for days. If it's using a proxy server to disguise itself to Apple, every request will need to be routed through that proxy server. Apple has a billion dollar data center to handle requests. These guys probably have one server. With a million people trying to use this hack their server is likely down for the count and unless they have money to put up a little server farm. It's not coming back up for a while.

Heres to hoping they will allow users to run their own servers :) after all, siri proxy is open on github, and i would imagine it would only be a branch of that at most. After all, there are people who emulate battle.net, and they have alot of people online doing MUCH more bw and cpu cycle consuming things. If theres a will, there will be a way.

My recommendation is that they let you enter the IMEI or whatever unique id is used to determine its an iPhone 4S. That way everyone is responsible for their own device. If too many people use the same IMEI, Apple will surely block that one but if I shared my iPhone 4S id with my iPhone 4, the traffic wouldn't be enough for Apple to detect.

iC need to [Update]: Siri proxy server is down, when it's up, will work again. It's a big install/download cydia wont do big download/installs on unreliable connections, if it download 81% and trys to install, it wont work, just reinstall if does not install. After install you need to turn it on in settings. Camera is bugged, there is a .deb file fix, i imagine there will be an update soon for h1siri. It was released on the 12th and has just been discovered by the western world, hence servers are being hammered I would think.

To be arrested because of anything Apple iPhone OS related will make the individual somewhat of folk lore hero... A martyr for the cause. So this bound to happen soon... Let the lawyers come.
Reply · Like · Mark as Spam

Incredibly wrong and misleading.
To be arrested for purposely breaking the "law" (not Apple's law), copyright infringement, reverse engineering (also against the law where applicable), will make you (not you personally) nothing more than a certified idiot. Unlike jail breaking which is not illegal, the above mentioned infractions are. Being a martyr for a cause is one thing, but there is nothing to be gained by this action. Maybe you remember the previous version of Siri that was hacked to work on older iPhone where the dev pulled down the site ASAP after a few letters from Apple and Nuance.

Siri has to use Apple's servers. The 4S is the only device cuurently allowed to access these servers. The developer of this app: 1. reverse engineered it. Illegal. 2. Allows an illegal app to illegally access Apple's servers. Again highly illegal. Cydia is not directly the problem. The app is.

um I don't think you get the point, the iphone 4 is perfectly capable of running siri using its A4 chip (this has already been proven). The iphone 4 processes siri request at almost the exact same speed as the 4S. For some its just that they want siri, for others like myself the 4S is completely useless as there is not yet an official jailbreak for it (cydia is the only reason I use IOS devices). also no one wants to upgrade for many different reasons either because they have already paid for an iphone 4 with a contract or bought them factory unlocked and don't want to pay another $700 just to get a less capable device just to use siri, they don't have an iphone and just want it on an iPod touch 4g, theres no point in having a 4S if its only key feature is siri or simply people think its just cool to have on an older device. so why don't you take your 4S and shove it up your ass and quit bitching, the 4S is not worth getting for just one feature.

Do you know if they are tracking your IP address? If you are going out to a server, there is a good chance Apple is tracking your IP addy and your phone UID. They could probably pinpoint your location as well.

You have a point. For sure they can pinpoint your location but they need access to your phone initially for them to be able to remote control it, or the user will have had to install something or visit a site that installs something.

@Tim,
Apple will not come to your home for anything. I do not think you understand how it works. However, Apple will block Siri server access and sue the developer who is violating the law back to the Stone Age rightfully. Hope, I've helped you to understand much better now.
