New Verizon iPad Works on AT&T's 3G Network [Video]

The new Verizon iPad has been confirmed to work on AT&T's 3G network, according to MacRumor's forum member jsnuff1.

I was one of the first to obtain a Verizon iPad and can happily confirm that this is allowed! I used my ATT iPhone 4S sim card and took out the Verizon sim, and data worked! You must apply the AT&T APN carrier settings before this works though. Keep in mind that AT&T's LTE network won't work on the Verizon iPad due to hardware limitations, but Verizon iPad owners now have an awesome fallback wherever Verizon LTE is not available (and if you want free data with your iPad if you don't need LTE)!

Hmmm but can u go to Verizon with the gsm iPad (AT&T). Wouldn't it be better to get Verizon so you have the option to go gsm and Verizon. Or are you saying I can keep AT&T and some how switch to Verizon in the future?

I got my new iPad today, and activate my LTE. its fast about 7.23 mb dw and 2.23 mb up. That on LTE you can deactivate and leave 4g instead. a bit slow on 4g like 1.3 mb less.But Im thinking to return, this iPad and get the wi-fi only.its unbelievable how fast eat you mb. i have it since 5 pm with the 4 g and LTE. i watch a half video on both 4g and LTE. not eve 3 minutes of the total video. look at FB for 10 Minutes only the feeds. 3 foots from is. i opened clarified read the main page not opening the articles posted, received like 7 messages on iMessage. sent a couple txt on Line2 and ruined the map like 10 minutes.test with speediest programs like 3 times to check the network speed. in by my house. at one of my work place. just to know how fast was in both. at my house i get the numbers posted at the beginning and at my work hardly get 3.84. dw and 11.34 up. that right 11.34 up. not 1.34--11.34 mb up. and thats it. not music from the net maybe read web page making sure most is just letters. no email . and guest what .at this time i have consumed. 271MB down and 30.3 up. I think is insane how fast it eat the data plan. on my iPhone my cycle started on the 12th so far using basically the same as on the iPad by i used face time a couple times 3 to 4 minutes top on 3g and i have consumed 391MB down till this time. and 56 Mb up. What Do you guys think.Is worth to pay 30 DLs for 3 Gigs month how long it last if in 6 hours. i use 271.

not mentioning the battery with 10 minutes of use took about 7%. from 7:30 pm to 1:30 pm it went down from 99 % to 75 % insane how fast LTE and 4g Eat battery,

if I wanted to activate an AT&T ipad 3GB plan I would only have to pay $5/mo. (not really sure thats even worth it) but all I would use it for is GPS which is what I use my 4S data for mostly with my Tmobile plan, I call tmobile and the end of each cycle and I use roughly 200mb/mo. and thats including using my stock settings tethering with my wifi ipad 2 (which is free BTW, bt still only on EDGE:/). If your considering whether or not to keep your ipad plan, it depends what you realistically use it for, but I would just keep the ipad itself since the 3g/4g model is worth more and you data plan is free of contract plus its unlocked so you can choose between carriers so your not just stuck with AT&T

@6italia0 well on my iPhone i hardly a month reach the 2 gigs. and thats the new 3g speed on att. wish is fast then verizon or sprint 3g or t-mo. A watch some video not saying always but time to time. i read post on this sites(kind) Fb and watch whatever is on the post. FaceTime may be 1 time a day on 3g. skype some time. read emails attachments or not, ether .and i don't get over charge from att only one time i get the txt warning that i almost pass the allow on my unlimited plan ,600 mb below 2Gis. I just to tether but to never pass the 2 his . and also received the txt from att with the warning on get the tether plan. but i don't want to abandon my unlimited data plan. because i know iPhone 4gLTE is coming and it will take a lot mb. hope att or others change the gigs on the plan a least 6 his /30dls because if now .will be a lot of complains and sues.

Now that is not fair from AT&T. Why would that be allowed if a Verizon or Sprint iPhone cannot instantly work with an AT&T sim card?

just put a different sim card in your ipad, its already unlocked

You could be just showing the verizon box and using att ipad.
