Pod2g has announced the discovery of a way to untether the iOS 5.1.1 jailbreak for the iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 3G.

Previously, pod2g had thought these devices would not be compatible with the untether.

Good news. We've found a way through for iPod 3G and iPhone 3GS users. Upcoming jailbreak will be compatible.

Here is the list of devices that are known to work for sure:
● iPhone 4
● iPhone 4S
● iPad 1
● iPad 2 Wifi
● iPad 3 Wifi
● iPad 3 CDMA
● iPod 3G
● iPod 4G

Here is the list of devices that won't be supported:
● AppleTV 3

Remains to test (but that should work):
● iPhone 3Gs
● iPad 2 GSM
● iPad 2 CDMA
● iPad 2 Wifi, R2
● iPad 3 Global
● AppleTV 2

It's really pathetic how the whining is in these comment threads after a progress announcement is made. Whatever happened to patience? You should be jailbroken already if you're reading this website. Unless of course you just bought a new iPhone. If that's the case and you're still whining about the release date, I have some sage wisdom for ya. STFU! No really, shut up. Seriously? Yeah, as if I know pod2g... I've never understood the concept of releasing a Jailbreak for older devices first before the new ones, seems like working backwards to me. You'd think the new products would be worked on first because they're the hardest and then once those are completed, it's released and then the focus shifts to the older devices....but thats just my 2 cents. Take what you want from it..Do what the FUCK you wanna do

Do you know that only beta for developers will be released with many bugs. Beta means that it wouldnt be a final release so if pod2g will jailbreak the beta version apple will fix the vulnerability and then there will be no jailbreak for ios6 and all the people with A5 devices will wait so much time for nothing...

That's what ppl don't realize the final IOS 6.O won't be ready until late October of this year. 5.1.1 release is the way to go. I do hope they find a solution to the ATV3, that would be something sweet.. :)

We know that work hard POD2...can you please give us at least approximately when this jailbreak will be released? All my devices are jailbroken on 5.0.1 ..nice to see a downgrade on 4s that was the best that ever happened .. Just please give us an update when is going to be release.. IOS6 is bout to be released might as well enjoy this for little bit.. Thank you We appreciate everything you'r doing Peace God Bless
