I solve the problem of "The attached device is not activated. You need to activate it before it can be use with Absinthe". by using Redsn0w 0.9.10b8, Absinthe 2.0 and Rocky Racoon 5.1.1. I have Iphone 3GS , 6.15.00 . 1/ download fireware 5.1.1 (9B206) 2/ use itune to update your iphone to this firm ware 3/ jailbreak with Redsnow (So it will help to solve the error message of activation ) 4/ Run Absinthe 2.0 to make a jailbreak 5/ Install Rocky Racoon 5.1.1. 6/ Install Ultrasnow fix 5.1.1 7/ Install Ultrasnow Done, I got my iphone Update to 5.1.1 with untethered jailbreak

tried to jailbreak 3times now but did not work. i always get this message: "Recovery completed. If you want to retry jailbreaking, unplug your device and plug it back in." any suggestions?

Hi, I have the same issue. The iPhone 4s just has issues but the iPad 2 worked after initial issues. I also erased all content on the phone still have the same issues.

I was able to make it work after three failures by restoring the 5.1.1 factory fresh via iTunes, then doing the JB. It looked very different on the iPhone screen and worked perfectly after restoring the software via iTunes.

The thing is that Mountain Lion it's still in beta.. Try using Lion

Absinthe 2.0 will not work on 10.8, it only works on 10.5, 10.6 and 10.7

My iPad 3 didn't do anything on "Waiting for reboot" so I rebooted it, now I get Error Lockdown -5 :(

Absinth gets stuck at "waiting for reboot, don't unplug you device yet" The iPad reboots, but nothing happens afterwards (I do not get "restore in progress" on my iPad screen as I saw in a youtube video) iPad 3 iOS 5.1.1

Yessss got it! Tried multiple times on a Mac (iPad 3 on 5.1.1) but no sign of 'restore in progress' halfway. Tried it again on a Windows 7 pc and it worked like a charm! (<90seconds). I recommend you to give that a try if you're having the same problems! Gonna get me some tweaks now bubye..
