Drop Test: Apple iPhone 5 vs. Samsung Galaxy S III [Video]

The first drop test video comparing the Apple iPhone 5 to the Samsung Galaxy S III has been posted by Android Authority.

This morning in Hong Kong, Darcy dropped the Galaxy S3 and the iPhone 5 a total of four times, each time from an increasing height. To make our drop test more realistic, we tried to recreate the accidents that happen most often in real life. We ruthlessly let the two devices fall to the hard pavement, just to see what happens. Needless to say, it wasn't pretty. See for yourselves. Dayum!

The hard aluminum shell of the iPhone 5 withstood the impact pretty well, and the glass protecting the display remained intact. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S3 predictably lost its back cover and suffered damage to the casing and the front glass. Sad, sad, sad.

All tests have different results but the i-phone 5 is made of the bullet proof material and the Kevlar is five time stronger than steel. It can tell that how strong and robust the moment the i-phone 5 hits the ground and just think of the moment the bullet hits the bullet proof vest.

I seen many videos people doing drop test they all come out differently. There is no point to this video.

ok u better read prices of galaxy SIII front glass :D:D:D if u droped this one u will pay almost 2.5 times more to fix it than iphone 4-5

Hey , Why didn't he drop the Galaxy face down drop down test ? Maybe because it would of not last .

Its really foolish way of judging .. I love the design of my 4s more than any of the phones but whats true ppl gotta believe that you cant compare Glass to Plastic interms of durability .. Obviously plastic will not break and be more durable but it cant provide the same feel as iphone does with its glass and sturdy build

Ha, now this should just show what gorilla glass really is, just a overly advertised thick glass, but the truth about glass is that it breaks either way. Galaxy S III LCD/Digitizer displays usually run about $218 in red, white or blue on ebay (best quality parts from sino depot) while the average 4/4S LCD/Digitizer display runs about $30 - $45 in any color (literally)

Dropping 2 individual phones is hardly scientific. To be even mildly legit, they'd have to drop several numerous times, to insure damage done wasn't just the result of how they landed. This is a novelty designed to provoke a knee-jerk response, and isn't worth paying any attention to. You're only likely to crack a screen if the screen lands on a rock!

i'm apple bais, i'll announce that from the start. but there's no way the iphone should have won. there is no way any of these drops are remotely scientific. they all drop a completely different way, complete and utter bullshit test.
