A leaked T-Mobile memo reveals instructions that the 'Apple iPhone' name and image can no longer be used by the company to drive sales and customer traffic, reports TMONews.
Now, let's be clear and say we don't know the reasons for this, it could be a T-Mobile management decision, an Apple legal decision, a T-Mobile legal decision or something else entirely. In other words, I wouldn't jump to conclusions.
Still, we know Apple is a lawyer-happy place so it wouldn't surprise us if they took issue with T-Mobile using the iPhone name in marketing without officially carrying the product. At the very least, in terms of marketing collateral as this brief memo suggests.
Take a look at the memo below. Does this sound like Apple Legal to you?

I think it might be the issue of misrepresentation of how iPhones can be used on TMobile network, which savvy users know it's not 100% compatible with ATT. ATT has no problem lately unlocking iPhones at the end of contracts, so there's no compelling reason to think they be the force. Apple hardly cares what owners do with their old phones.

T-mobile got away with alot of stuff.
They didnt want to pay for the iPhone.
But they want a free ride!
These days it stupid not to carry iPhone .
Even Sprint is dead broke has an Iphone ..they can hardly afford shit.

I like your comment, but think about it tmobile offers unlimited talk text and 4g internet with no data cap for $70. no one offers the same plan for that money. now if tmobile officially gets the iphone then that price is gonna jump near $100 and probably there will be no unlimited data. So i think like this is batter, buy iphone from CL unlock it online and use it for any carrier...

F.Y.I sprint is not doing very well either they lost a lot of money because of the deal with apple and they are not as profitable as they were. Also T-mobile is refarming their network so any at&t phone even the iphone will work on T-mobile's HSPA+ 42 Mbps network. I have T-mobile and I surpassed 25 Gb of data in one month and they did not slow down my speeds or charge me. If I have to give up the iPhone for unlimited data then so be it.

that's totally Apple doing they sell factory unlocked iPhones for a lot of $$$$ so people can use the iPhone with their choice of cell providers so I don't see anything wrong with the advertisements, good thing Apple can't do it in my country and probably many more around the world, all my iPhones since the 3GS where factory unlocked and as long as Apple keep selling factory unlocked phones they should b***t out. It's like Apple totally lost it, I love all my Apple devices and I got many but apple taking Samsung to court was a big mistake, they don't need the money, and all it did is showed to people that Apple are scared of the competition plus apple used to buy the best parts for their devices from Samsung so now the buy from Sharp and the iPhone 5 got all kind of problems, also I read all over the net of people saying enough is enough and they go and get the galaxy s3 which got a four core chip in it if u get it out side of the united states like on eBay, I really love my Apple devices and really hope that Apple will stop worrying about the competition and use that time to create better and newer inventions because I don't want to get to the point of enough is enough!

So they have to take a bunch of signs down. Likely won't cost them one unlocked iPhone customer. Lets be honest. If you know what an unlocked iPhone is...you know where you can use it.

They can still give the SIM cards to people. They just can't use the iPhone as advertising. And SIM cards are cheap to make.

They still can sell the microSIMs, T-Mobile just can't use Apples name or ( iPhone ) word or its image to render promotions to customers that are around T-Mobile stores.
