Google has officially unveiled the Motorola Moto X, a 4.7-inch smartphone which offers a high level of customization options.
Through their online studio, Moto Maker, you choose the colors, and decide on the details: front, back, accents, memory, wallpapers, even add a name or a short message. The device is assembled in the USA and shipped for free in 4 days or less.
Choose from more than 2,000 possible combinations, with more to come. We’ll be constantly exploring new offerings, such as real wood backs, starting later in the year. Still love the classics? You can choose an eye-catching woven black or woven white model right in the store.
Motorola is also touting some other signature features:
Touchless Control Moto X is ready when you are. It responds to your voice - no touching necessary. With Touchless Control you can check the weather, get directions, or do just about anything without lifting a finger. Moto X doesn’t guess like other phones do. It knows.
Active Display With Active Display, Moto X keeps the information you need to know at your fingertips. Instead of a constantly blinking light, important information quietly appears on the screen. It doesn’t interrupt. You don’t have to wake it up to look at the time or see your messages. Before you know it, that constant itch to check your phone will be gone forever.
Quick Capture Need to capture that perfect moment before it’s gone? All it takes is two quick twists of your wrist and Moto X’s Quick Capture camera is ready to shoot. Touch anywhere on the screen and you’ll get just the shot you want. Its high-quality sensor can capture the darkest scenes or stop motion blur in bright light. You’ll see the difference in every shot.
Moto X will be available in the US, Canada and Latin America starting in late August/early September. In the US, woven black and woven white models will be available at AT&T, Sprint, US Cellular, Verizon Wireless and at national retailers including Best Buy stores with a suggested retail price of $199 with a new two-year agreement. Additionally, it will be available on all carriers, including T-Mobile, at Motorola.com.

Oh people if you didn't notice there is no phone with the highest spec sheet, there's always a feature going to come out to tromp an earlier phone then a phone to come out with much more power than a phone to come out with less power but more features vice versa. I say give me the highest spec phone with the most features. Maybe change the form factor a little for different people and the size but don't make 10 phones for every company doing almost the same thing having one flagship and a bunch of budget phones, I know I'm asking for too much these companies have to make money but I don't really care about them making money... I only care about what I want n no bull is what I want. Well at least I know the cell phone carriers are who I hate the most!!!!
Well looks like Motorola got their heads out of each others a$$holes and decided to release a phone to all carriers (not just Verizon), its cool you can customize from the factory, but it just doesn't seem as unique as say an iPhone 5 with a different color anodized bezel or colored glass, something not too many people have (or know you can get). The reactions I get for my iPhone 5 with red glass I know I won't get with a Moro X. The usual reaction I get is "whoa, where the f\/ck did you get that?!" Whereas with this it will be more like "oh, cool story bro"
Notice how everyone is still comparing this phone with the iPhone... I thought the galaxy killed the iPhone along time ago..... Why dont they say "galaxy s4 killer" or "Nokia killer" hahaha #teamiphone
They're just alittle slow and do it for the attention. Every somewhat high end phone that has came out since the original iPhone has been said to be the "iPhone Killer". Still hasn't happened.
I would loved it if they had few different versions of the same phone like I get it with now spec cost down but some of like me tech guy do want tastes and best one of them. ;(
Ain't that the truth. It's cool what googles doing with this product and starting something new but basically all you're doing is picking colors. The wallpapers aren't a big deal. You can get wallpapers anywhere. No way this is going to kill the iPhone.
actually the only "smartphone" I've ever owned is an iP4. I just thought I'd see what kind of comments would follow... So angry people...It's just a stupid phone
WOW I JUST LOVE WHAT I'M SEEING. Thia phone is fantastic and it out does all the other smartphones. And it's made in out country by USA hands. 10 plus Motorolla
