Ubi is a Kinect app that offers a gesture control solution to turn any surface into a 3D multitouch screen.
The solution consists of a Microsoft Kinect for Windows sensor and the Ubi software. The sensor can be placed facing a display created by front projection or rear projection letting users interact with the display using simple gestures as if it is a touch screen.
Ubi analyzes the images captured by the sensor to detect the position of the
user’s hands or fingers in the 3D space in front of the display. It can precisely determine when the user is in contact with the display and pass on this as standard touch events to any touch optimized Windows 8 application.
The minimum requirement to use Ubi solution is a projector or display panel, a Kinect for Windows sensor, and a Windows 8 PC with Ubi software installed.
Licensing Options:
● $149 per PC: 1 touch point, 45-inch display, finger mode, forum support
● $379 per PC: 1 touch point, 100-inch display, finger and hand mode, 2 day email support
● $799 per PC: 2 touch points, 100-inch display, finger and hand mode, 1 day email support
● $1499 per PC: 20 touch points, 100-inch display, finger and hand mode, same day phone support
