SlingMedia has announced that SlingPlayer is now submitted to Apple for App Store approval.
The team has been working hard to bring the SlingPlayer Mobile experience to the iPhone and iPod Touch. We've submitted the first release of our application to the iPhone App Store. We are in close contact with our partners at Apple and are optimistic that it will be approved soon. We hope the wait wont be much longer. In the mean time, take a sneak peek!
You can also register to be informed via email once its available.
Apple has been dragging their feet over approving this application. Lots of rumors over AT&T's demands that it not get approved, as AT&T claims it uses too much of their precious 3G bandwidth and just like teathering, where iPhone Modem was not approved, AT&T would like to charges users even more to watch streaming video in their iPhone. No company goes public on submission of their app to Apple unless they want to bring pressure to bear on Apple to approve it. Apple probably won't approve it, leaving Sling no choice but to go the router of other unapproved apps and distribute via Cydia to jailbroken phones.
