Brilliant iOS 8 Concept for Interactive Notifications [Video]

Brilliant iOS 8 Concept for Interactive Notifications [Video]

Posted December 30, 2013 at 9:02am by iClarified
Sam Beckett has posted a new video to showcase his concept for Interactive Notifications in iOS 8.

A brilliantly executed and much needed feature, Interactive Notifications introduces action buttons for notification banners.

Currently, iOS 7 displays notifications as a static banner at the top of the screen. While useful as a reference, the user is unable to action the notification and respond in any way. Beckett's concept provides a simple solution for users wanted to reply to a message or email without leaving the app they are currently in.

Take a look at the video below and please follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, or RSS for more news, videos, and tutorials.

This has been a huge oversight! It's been available for the iphone for years via jailbroken apps such as bitesms. In fact, it's one of the best reasons to jailbreak.

I think that if you really want people to start buying even more iPhones you should come out with the password for messages and pictures or at least a app. When I think oh iPhones I think of privacy, so that would be a nice feature to add also. ((:

Why don't you JB lovers all come together and create a list of JB apps that full potential and submit to Apple. Like this one. I do like this concept.

Or update iOS 7. Apple said this was the biggest change to iOS. What would be new yet better people haven't got before on other os. Android got this notification feature. There has to be a better idea.

This is a good function and have been in some JB sms app. I think a lot of those features in JB app are quite good. Apple should consider implementing similar feature in next gen of OS. Control Center is a good start but it can be better and more customizable.

Yes, like my idea, we move iOS 6 icons siri control center etc. to iOS 7 so people can customize it old and new all they want.

But I must add that most concept videos wich had ideas from the JB community have been implemented in later iOS releases, so maybe Apple will pick this up as well

I really like this! Apps that support these interactive notifications can have its own window when opened. For example, imagine that someone comments on your photo on Instagram. Tap the notification, and it opens up a window (similar to the one in the video), and it displays the photo and the comment. Once you reply to the comment, the window will close, and you will have never left the app you were initially in. Brilliant!

Who cares what we need that will be the only way every iOS user will be on iOS 7 is that we move iOS 6 icons siri control center etc. to iOS 7 so people can customize it old and new all they want. Been planning this for months but no one replied to me on how to rumor it...

Not that is innovation worthy of forcing customers to download nearly a 1 gig OS update.

This is nothing new, Android had this since the Android 2.1.0, You dont need a Major IOS 8 to ad that.. haha

OP has a point. I can already quickly reply to a message similarly to biteSMS on my Nexus 5, and any phone that runs cyanogenmod 9 or above. This feature has been available for years in Android. I use both iOS and Android devices, and notifications have been better in Android for a long time. The concept presented by Sam is absolutely not a unique idea.

you miss the point of the replier though. cyanogenmod is not android OS. its cyanogenmod. Can you do this without rooting your android phone? if so then kudos. if not then this will be nice. similar to saying the quickreply and bite sms have been on iPhone since iOS 3 or 4. But only if you jailbreak.....

I just recently sold my nexus4 and it runs stock android 4.4 kitkat, and I NEVER could do this. For those of you saying android could do this are probably using a skinned version based on the phone you have...either a feature htc or samsung put in...it's not in stock android, whenever I got a text I still had to leave what I was doing to reply to it on my nexus 4...not trying to start anything just saying.

its already in the 10.9 over the mac so i don't understand why apple didn't put it in iOS 7 where its more important to have.
