Apple Posts 3.0 Firmware for the New iPhone 3G S

Apple has already placed the 3.0 firmware online for the new iPhone 3G S device.

You can download the new firmware from here. However, please note that this will not work with your 2G or 3G handset. This firmware is for the unreleased iPhone 3G S.

The 3.0 firmware is expected to go live for all other devices starting on June 17th.

Downloaded the 3.0 GM. Running well on my 3G iPhone ...Same build 7A341. its the final release .. :)

the news says it will not run in 2g or 3g? can you confirm on this?

The news said THIS one (the link) will not run on 2G and 3G, it is the 2,1 iPhone version, each device has it's own version. iPhone 2,1 = iPhone 3GS / iPhone 1,2 = iPhone 3G / iPhone 1,1 = IPhone 2G. Check out the link I just posted, they are all the fimware for all the devices. Be sure to chose "Golden Master", it's the official 3.0

Yes, for iPhone 3G you need the firmware with 1,2. the 2,1 is only for iPhone 3GS.

Downloading... :) (Future 3GS owner, needed for JB I guess) Good point is the build is 7A341, same as the 3.0GM, so now we're sure it's the final & public build :)

i downloaded the files 2g,GOLD... all i have in the zip are DMGs.. what are these? are thse MAC? i have PC...

I will wait till it's been Jailbroken, I have too many APPS I have to use now. Got the Original iPhone and could use the Speed. Like to know if my External Battery, Chargers, Etc will work with it also..

you need not to jailbreak your iphone anymore. you can download and upgrade your iphone for free.

just download it at thepiratebay.org been running it for at least a week without problems. it's pretty lame if u ask me
