iPhone Dev-Team Releases PwnageTool 3.0 Jailbreak for Mac

The iPhone Dev-Team has released the PwnageTool 3.0 jailbreak tool for Mac. QuickPwn for Mac and Windows will follow soon.

1. GOLDEN RULE: If you are using a 3G iPhone with yellowsn0w and rely on yellowsn0w to obtain cellular service, then you should NOT use PwnageTool right now. UltraSn0w is not included with this release and therefore your baseband will be locked and unable to use an operator other than the official one it was bought for. UltraSn0w will be release via APT (cydia and icy) soon. If you have an original iPhone (1st generation) then 3.0 unlock works with this PwnageTool release.

2. Yellowsn0w in its current form will NOT work with the baseband version that is present in the 3.0 update, you will need Ultrasn0w, which will be released sometime soon, Ultrasn0w will work with all iPhone 3G models (but not 3GS), even ones that were previously unlockable, Ultrasn0w (when available) will be released via APT (this means you can get it via Cydia or Icy).

3. Please read all parts of this post before downloading and using these tools.

4. Read items 1, 2 and 3 again and again.

5. At the bottom of this post are the bittorrent files for the 3.0 capable version of PwnageTool.

6. This app is suitable for the recent 3.0 release.

7. PwnageTool will NOT work for the iPhone 3GS.

8. PwnageTool WILL work for Original iPhone (1st Generation), Original iPod touch (1st Generation) and the iPhone 3G.

Currently only the first iPod touch is supported at this time...

Appears that 'Find my iPhone' and 'Remote wipe' does not work if iPhone has been jailbreaked.

hi folks am facing difficulty in jail breaking my 3g iphone using 3.0 , when i have done dfu first it is saying failed and later it is displaying done , once it restarts then it is not showing me cydia applications help me out

HEY GUYS... i have a custom firmware for the iPhone 3g Jailbroken...3.0 its a custom ipsw...using DEV tools iPhone1,2_3.0_7A341_Restore.ipsw i have the link buy im not sure how links work here...maybe the admin can help me out... its a megaupload!

OK - I'm not the smartest guy going! What do you do with this "file" once it's downloaded. Doesn't appear to be a DMG? So how do you "extract" the file? TIA ajm

PwangeTool works great, but there are a lot of apps that needs to fix before they can work on 3.0., so if you need all your apps is better to wait.

Yes, but if you need your phone unlocked, you will not have service until you unlock it with ultasnow once it's out. But ya you can JB it now.

it says in the post if you read it that it does NOT work for 3gs. Hopefully there isn't too much difference to sort out.

What's the rush to update to 3.0? I'm still waiting for the mobileinstallation patch, winterboard, intelliscreen, etc to be updated before I will be upgrading. By then, all the bugs and stable jailbreak will be available.

I agree with MR. Q why the rush to update ? voice command , camera video , gps comps , every thing not supported by 3G and only 3GS iphone

Thanks Dev! Please also let us know if this release corrects both issues as mentioned yesterday such as YouTube inoperable. Is this a final release or will there be more to correct bugs, are there any? Thanks!
