QuickTime X to Change Look of Embedded Video Controls?

Apple may change the look of embedded QuickTime video controls with the upcoming QuickTime X software, according to an AppleInsider report.

The new design interface could drop the current gray palette and adopt a sleek, black look for the controls while viewing media.

An AppleInsider reader told the site that the new QuickTime X interface for embedded media is similar to a design tweak reportedly given to the QuickTime player for content accessed locally. Much like the proposed tweaks to the QuickTime X standalone player, the cosmetic changes for embedded content controls would signal a shift from the program's longstanding traditional look.


QuickTime X debuts a brand-new version of QuickTime Player which offers a clean, uncluttered interface with controls that fade out when they’re not needed. It is due to ship with Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard this September.
