Apple TV+ Sets Records With 81 Emmy Nominations

Apple TV+ has received a record-breaking 81 nominations for the 77th Emmy Awards, with its hit drama 'Severance' leading all series this year with 27 nominations. The breakout freshman comedy 'The Studio' also made history, earning 23 nominations—the most ever for a first-year comedy.

The impressive nomination count highlights a strong year for Apple's original programming. 'Severance,' which was renewed for a third season earlier this year, landed nods for Outstanding Drama Series, along with multiple nominations for directing and writing, and acting recognition for stars Adam Scott and Britt Lower, as well as supporting and guest cast members including Zach Cherry, Tramell Tillman, John Turturro, Patricia Arquette, Jane Alexander, Gwendoline Christie, and Merritt Wever.




'The Studio' swept the comedy categories, with nominations for Outstanding Comedy Series and acting nods for Seth Rogen, Ike Barinholtz, Kathryn Hahn, and Catherine O'Hara. The show also dominated the guest acting categories, earning five of the six nominations in the Outstanding Guest Actor category, with nods for Bryan Cranston, Dave Franco, Ron Howard, Anthony Mackie, and Martin Scorsese, alongside a guest actress nomination for Zoë Kravitz.



Apple also saw its acclaimed spy thriller 'Slow Horses' and the comedy 'Shrinking' recognized with nominations for Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Comedy Series, respectively. This makes Apple TV+ the only network this year to have multiple titles in both top program categories. Sir Gary Oldman received another nomination for his role in 'Slow Horses,' while Jason Segel and Harrison Ford were recognized for their performances in 'Shrinking.'

"Everyone at Apple is celebrating the talent, creativity, and hard work of all of our Emmy nominees this morning," said Zack Van Amburg, Apple's head of Worldwide Video. "Severance and The Studio have exceeded our wildest expectations in earning the most nominations for both drama and comedy series, alongside the phenomenal Shrinking and Slow Horses."


Jamie Erlicht, Apple's other head of Worldwide Video, added, "This record-breaking year is a milestone for Apple, and we're especially proud of the continued impact our outstanding series nominees... are having on global culture."



Apple Original Films' 'The Gorge' also landed the company its first-ever nomination for Outstanding Television Movie, while documentaries 'Deaf President Now!' and 'Bono: Stories of Surrender' were also recognized. Altogether, 14 Apple Original titles received nominations, including 'Bad Sisters,' 'Presumed Innocent,' 'Dope Thief,' 'Disclaimer,' 'Pachinko,' 'Your Friends & Neighbors,' and 'Dark Matter.'

In addition, Apple earned two nominations in the Outstanding Commercial category for its AirPods Pro 'Heartstrings' and Privacy 'Flock' ads. In total, Apple's original programming earned 31 acting nominations, the most of any network or studio this year. The winners will be announced at the Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony on September 14, 2025.
