Apple TV Announces 'Lenni' Comedy-Drama Starring Toni Collette

Apple TV has announced 'Lenni,' a new comedy-drama starring Toni Collette and based on the Norwegian series 'Pernille.'

Collette plays a divorced child welfare worker and mother of two who tries to protect her loved ones after a family tragedy. While her job involves fighting for other people's families, her own home life is in chaos. The season follows Lenni through a new case that brings her work and personal life into conflict.

Joining Collette in the cast are Ciarán Hinds, Dan Wyllie, Josh McKenzie, Celeste Barber, Genevieve Hegney, Arka Das, and Wayne Blair.

Dearbhla Walsh, whose credits include 'Bad Sisters' and 'Margo's Got Money Troubles,' directs the series, with Sarah Scheller ('The Letdown,' 'Strife') adapting it for Apple TV.

Made Up Stories and Keshet International are producing. Collette, Walsh, and Scheller also executive produce alongside Bruna Papandrea, Steve Hutensky, Katie Amos, Avi Nir, and Keren Shahar. Henriette Steenstrup, who created 'Pernille,' serves as an executive producer with Bård Fjulsrud and Tanya Badendyck. The original series is produced by Monster for Viaplay.

Production is underway in Sydney, Australia, with support from the New South Wales government through Screen NSW's Made in NSW Fund. Apple has not announced a premiere date.
