Apple has activated its extended holiday return policy, giving shoppers in the U.S. until January 8, 2027 to return eligible purchases from the Apple Store online.

The holiday return window covers eligible products received between November 6 and December 25, 2026. That makes the delivery date important, rather than simply when an order is placed. Purchases after December 25 remain subject to the standard policy, which generally allows U.S. customers 14 calendar days from receipt to return a product.
There are exceptions for carrier financing. In the U.S., iPhones financed through T-Mobile or Verizon do not qualify for the extension, nor do iPads financed through Verizon. Those purchases remain under the standard return policy.
Shoppers in Canada and the U.K. have the same holiday dates as the U.S. However, the U.K. excludes consumer-financed purchases from the extension.
The window stretches further in Italy, Spain, Mexico, and Japan. Eligible online orders received from November 6, 2026 through January 6, 2027 qualify for a January 20 return deadline.
Italy and Spain also exclude consumer-financed purchases. In Japan, the extension does not cover purchases using the Paidy Apple installment plan, credit card installments, carrier installments, or carrier promotions.
The longer window does not make otherwise nonreturnable items eligible. Other conditions still apply, including U.S. exclusions for Apple Gift Cards, electronic software downloads, and certain opened software. Customers returning an iPhone or cellular iPad should also note that a return does not automatically cancel their wireless service.
Purchases from other retailers follow those sellers' return policies, not Apple's. For eligible U.S. online orders, customers can start a return through their order details or take the product to a U.S. Apple Store.
