TPS is a load of shite. Most calls route out of India and TPS cant do anything about it.

TPS is a database for those wanting to opt out of telemarketing, it is a code of conduct agreement between the regulator and the telemarketing industry; hence its ineffectual use for some people. Social regulations regarding use of the telephone network are upheld by Ofcom, the UK regulators have always shyed away from the old black listing regulations applied by countries such as Germany, although pre EU harmonisation there was a UK regulation for repeat dialling to the same number. Ofcom request telemarketing companies to observe both TPS and the ability for a customer to identify the telemarketer by use of a callback number. Any complaints submitted to Ofcom where TPS is ignored will result in a stiffer fine. Ofcom cannot regulate on operators and networks outside of UK borders. To make matters worse Indian callcenters offering International services only (I.e customer support in US and Europe) are exempt from Indian regulations, meaning they are placed in a loosely regulated no man's land. TPS can never be the be and end all for those reasons.

Can you also block callers without caller ID? I mean, callers who have blocked their own number from showing up on my phone.

You can't block a number without caller id,set a silent ring as default and vibrate off and set all your contacts a unique ring tone and vibrate on. In the UK we have TPS which a mostly effective way of dealing with telemarketing calls unless they originate outside of the UK. You might want to look for that system where you live and register with it.

This is a definitely one of the many good points of IOS that I miss, I didn't care that my ex could leave a message as the provider deleted unlistened to messages after 7 days. With an Android (kit kat) I have to get an app that is hit and miss; and choc a bloc with advertising.
