iPhone 6s Pre-Orders Are Sold Out Ahead of September 25th Launch

Posted September 21, 2015 at 11:57pm by iClarified
It's too late to pre-order an iPhone 6s. If you want to get one on launch day (September 25th) you'll have to wait in line.

Following the early sell out of iPhone 6s Plus units, pre-orders for the iPhone 6s are now delivering Sep 29 - Oct 6.

Surprisingly, Apple has already commented on iPhone 6s pre-orders, revealing that it's on pace to beat last years 10 million unit first weekend record.

You'll be able to get an iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus at 8:00 a.m. local time on Friday, September 25 at Apple’s retail stores. Stores will have the new iPhones available for walk-in customers who are "encouraged to arrive early". Please note that walk-in sales are NOT available in China, Hong Kong, Japan and US stores in tax-free states. If you're in one of those locations you will need a reservation.

So I reserved an iPhone for this Friday cause I wanted to do the payment plan on Apples website. Since I couldn't do that, I "reserved" an iPhone and got an email saying to come in this Friday to pick it up. Does this mean there is an iPhone saved for me? Or is it still kinda first come first serve.....? I'm not gonna wait in line for 18 hours for the S version.

Hey Rahil. Last weekend I went into my closest local Apple Store asking how the whole apple upgrade thing worked. He explained to me that if you reserve one online or in the store for launch day and want to do the apple upgrade thing you have a 3 hour window to pick it up. From 8-11 AM. So if you reserved one im pretty sure they'll have your info and you won't have to wait with the people who didn't reserve or preorder one. Plus you need to bring a bunch identification with you to apply for the upgrade program by the way. If you didn't know that already. A major credit card and Id from what I was told. So hopefully when you get there they'll have separate lines for the preorders and reserves. I personally was going to do this upgrade thing through Apple but my closest store is over an hour and a half away and I didn't feel like going through the hassle of driving then waiting in their long lines and also having a separate bill just for the phone payment itself. Just gonna stick with the verizon edge plan like I've been doing this last year since I got the 6 and just wait in line at the local verizon like I did last year. Maybe when the 7 comes I'll try apples deal. Sorry for the long ramble but I hope this helps you out and good luck with everything.

Thanks for the detailed write-up! Really appreciate the information. I'm just excited/nervous/anxious about this Friday. My email says to be at my local AS by 10am. Friday can't come any slower.... Haha. I heard this lady in Cali got her RGiP6 today! That's crazy !Hope you enjoy your new iPhone! I know I will!

Reserved 2 6S pluses for me and my better half. Hope the transition from the 4.7" 6 to the 5.5" plus is an easy one. Couldn't get myself to get it when the 6 came out. Going from a 4 to a 5.5 was too big of a jump. Now that I'm used to the 4.7, I think I can make the jump to the larger screen (at least I hope) I really want the better battery life and the OIS camera!

My partner's 4 feels like a toy compared to the 6 plus now. You'll enjoy not having to recharge multiple times a day.

Was thinking of going from the 6 to the 6S plus myself but I just can't get used to the size. I've been using a friends periodically and it's just a hassle especially with somewhat small hands. I'm sure overtime Id be fine just like going from the 4S to the 6 but I might just wait until the 7 plus. Maybe it'll be a little smaller and not as wide or tall. I'd be too afraid of dropping it, especially with a thick case on, while trying to use it with one hand which I've gotten pretty used to with the 6 this past year. Plus I still have a few used and new cases for the 6 which will still fit the new 6S. Don't really feel like buying new cases again. Still have a few days to decide though. Good luck to everyone trying to get one on launch day and have fun. #APPLENATION

I reserved a 6s Plus for pickup in store the morning of the pre irder, before they sold out. Does my reservation guarantee that they will have an iPhone for me? I assume it does but you never know with apple

Hey nogunssaveslives. I commented above about this. Long story short the apple rep in the store told me if you reserved one for in store pickup on launch day you have from 8 AM to 11 AM to pick it up. After that you're screwed and they sell it to so someone who didn't preorder or reserve one. I'd call the store just to make sure though but this is probably what they'll tell you too. Good luck man.
