HTC has a new ad that is reminiscent of Apple's 1984 ad, for its new phone that looks a lot like Apple's iPhone.

The video attempts to convey a homogenous world where everything is the same and is urging the audience to be different. The tag line for the ad is 'Be Different. Be Loud. Be Inspired. Be Free. Be Brilliant.' In one scene of the commercial, the protagonist of the video runs across the table and purposefully kicks a bowl of real Apples, which impresses a girl sitting nearby (for whatever reason).

Watch the ad below and let us know what you think in the comments. We've posted Apple's original 1984 ad below as well.

Poor HTC, didn't they just get knocked out from Taiwan stock exchange recently.

These "ads" teach me to not ever buy from them. First Samsung, then Microsoft, and since the rap video HTC.

gamerscul9870 - November 6, 2015 at 2:15pm

We're mentioning who copies what because of how ironic this 'ad' is being here. That's the point were proving, plus the jokes on those who choose to update to iOS 9.1 if users still want jailbreak. Plus resetting after updating always fixes the unstable OS and works flawless. It's probably that.

So... I watch the ad, and think 'hey this is cool', but then in the end... BOOM! Cheap iPhone 6 copy... Really? No.

Be different? Then why did they build their phone to look like an iPhone 6? Lol

iProService - November 6, 2015 at 2:31am

I can appreciate wanting to be bold and different but then why use this slogan for a device which is clearly a lower priced imitation of an iPhone? It is neither bold nor different. It's just a Toyota (Lexus) trying to pretend it's a Mercedes.

...cool commercial but despite what fantasies HTC have in their minds in reality Apple is beating HTC on the market...

gamerscul9870 - November 6, 2015 at 1:26am

Not really. This is just an expectation from their day dreams. Heck even their rap is a perfect example.

prostovanka - November 6, 2015 at 1:09am

Oh Apple was inspired alright, to steal from HTC and HTC from Apple.

gamerscul9870 - November 6, 2015 at 1:21am

What did Apple steal?

We all know what happend after eating marshmallows :)

Vic - November 5, 2015 at 10:59pm

Be different yet they didn't make a different design...

T - November 5, 2015 at 10:53pm

Apple did it better. They tried at lease. All that action was fitting for a shoe commercial maybe

AKN15 - November 5, 2015 at 10:49pm

I guess the video knid of the lack and poverty of htc the shows. Htc is trying to build their self use the power of the other party. But that impossible for them. "Apple is still Apple" and every time they will gonna use Apple to do the comparison becuase of their power in the market.

So HTC wants us to be different? Then why does their phone look like an iPhone 6 or 6s?

gamerscul9870 - November 5, 2015 at 10:04pm

Here's my response to their message: be new, be proven, be real, be creative.

The ad looks like a school project.
