Apple has started identifying apps with support for the new Apple TV in the App Store.
To check if an app supports the Apple TV, search for it on your iPhone, then scroll down on the app's details page to the Information section. You will see an Apple TV indicator if the app supports the device.
Take a look at the image below for an example.

What a waste of money and time Apple TV is. I just tried Amazon Fire TV and it works great with Kodi. I've been using atv since gen 1 and endless wait for jailbreak on atv 3 and 4 is pretty much waste of time. Good bye atv, welcome amazon fire TV, finally HBO go works and no worries about jailbreak ever again.
One thing is to love ATV and another things is functionality of device. I used to love atv when was up to date with a jailbreak, XBMC (Kodi now), etc. Right now, fireTV is superior in functionality and that is what matter to me. If you are using only stock apps and don't care about Kodi and jailbreak, than I would stay on ATV but this is not the case because I need Kodi.
ATV will eventually have jailbreaks just like the latest iOS versions can even when iOS 9 attempted to be rootless. Just you wait against what ATV still can be capable of.
